Make Me Over Social hosted by Fashionably Chic Tours

Violesia Tull, from Fashionably Chic Tours hosted a beauty event titled, “Make Me Over Social.”  The event took place at Saks Fifth Avenue located in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

During the event participants had the opportunity to receive make overs from Dior Cosmetics, indulge in spa facials, and enjoy lite hors d’ oeuvres.

In addition, National Makeup Artist Jelena Marjanovie was present for the event while showing participants makeup techniques and new colors from the Dior brand.

This was a lovely event and of course I enjoyed visiting Saks Fifth Avenue.  Violesia was a great host and I look forward to attending the next event by Fashionably Chic Tours.

Polka Dot Prints: The Latest Obsession

Polka dots have become my latest fashion obsession.  There’s something about combining this pattern with a bold color or dainty accessory that makes it a great fashion look.

And polka dots (in today’s design) can be seen in a variety of hues and textures.  This pattern basically goes with anything!

To my surprise,  I was able to find a “delectable” pair of polka dot jeans (with a zipper on the side.)  I instantly gravitated towards these jeans because I have never seen a pair (of jeans) in this pattern and of course they were a great price.

At that time, I wasn’t quit sure how I would wear the jeans but I knew they were a good purchase.  Luckily, after brining them home I discovered several options for my new polka dots jeans.

For me, the most important point to remember about polka dots is that this pattern can refresh any wardrobe and be worn year round.  Whether a summer blouse, cashmere sweater, or fitted blazer, polka dots are a fashion must have.

MBFW Jill Stuart Fall 2013 Collection

At this point, we all know that Mercedes – Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013 Collections is currently in full swing.  But for those of us that aren’t in New York, we still have the opportunity to catch a few shows!

Take a look at Jill Stuart Fall 2013 Collection; this collection has a mixture of prints, textures, and lengths.  And what I like about this show, is the use of quality fabrics and well made garments.

The designer also shows us many stylish ways to wear the color “black.”  From flared skirts to key hole bodice, this collection is the definition of the word couture!

Mercedes – Benz Fashion Week for the Fall 2013 Collections has officially started.  Fashion “guys and girls” are gearing up for exciting shows; great parties; and the opportunity to meet a few celebrities in between.

But for those of us that are unable to make the shows, we are lucky to live in a world of technology! With that being said, we are now able to streamline fashion shows right from our laptop (which is amazing.)

Kerry Washington at The NAACP Image Awards 2013

Kerry Washington looks absolutely beautiful at The NAACP Image Awards 2013.  Of course I love the color of the dress (due to my beloved sorority.)

But most importantly, this dress is timeless and the lace design is elegant.  Kerry Washington’s make up is very simple with basic contouring, eyelashes, and a soft (neutral) shade of pink.

In honor of today’s inauguration, we are posting pictures of Michelle Obama to celebrate the second term of President Barack Obama!

As we can tell from the photos below, it’s all about “The Coat” when we address the fashion of our first lady.  She’s looking elegant as ever this morning for the swearing in ceremony, wearing a blue Thom Brown coat!

Inauguration Fashion: Michelle Obama’s Sophisticated Style

Inauguration 2013 fashionable deets have already started and the first lady will not let us down. Last night, Michelle Obama attended an inauguration reception at The National Building Museum and was seen wearing a lovely black, sequin cocktail dress.  Michael Kors is the designer of the dress, where Michelle was able to make the look her own with a new sophisticated hair cut and a variety of bracelets.

This is only the beginning of what the first lady will have in store for us on Inauguration Day 2013 and Style Life Fashion.com will be blogging, alert and watching! Stay Tuned!
