Ann Taylor Classic Pants – Wardrobe Staple

Like your favorite LBD or go-to pair of jeans, a classic pair of pants is a staple in any wardrobe – although they aren’t the most fun to shop for.  Now, instead of expecting you to fit the pants, Ann Taylor created the pants that fit you.

With 3 silhouettes (ankle, crop, trouser), fits, heights, 11 sizes and endless colors, Ann Taylor designed the pants to fit the full range of women who wear them, offering something for every body.  Please see below selections featuring pant styles ranging from on trend prints and bright hues to classic pin stripes and pant suits.

Mother’s Day Style and Shopping List from Ann Taylor

It’s time to start thinking about what you’d like to gift your mom – and what she would like to wear – on Mother’s Day (May 14).

Ann Taylor’s Spring 2017 collection features trends such as bow and tassel details, earthy neutrals, gem stones and swinging spring dresses – perfect for any taste or style.  The brand’s International Women’s Day Scarf collection ($128 at AnnTaylor.com) is also a great way to honor the women and mothers in your life – with each scarf hand-dyed by women from a village in the Himalayas, all as unique as the women who made them.

I would also like to highlight the new video, This is Ann, which highlights past, present and futures generations of women and the victories they have achieved, to consider sharing as well.

Ann Taylor Debuts This Is Ann Video – National Women’s History Month

Along with National Women’s History Month, This is Annmarks Ann Taylor’s commitment to support young women through the launch of HERlead Fellowship, which uses mentorship and leadership training to inspire future generations of female leaders.

To better empower and equip candidates with the skills they need, This is Ann calls for those watching to apply or nominate a young woman with the passion to create positive change in her community and, ultimately, affect global progress.

International Women’s Day with Ann Taylor’s Scarves

To support International Women’s Day on March 8, Ann Taylor will be offering a limited-edition scarf collection. Each scarf in the International Women’s Day Scarf Collection is individually created by a group of inspiring women from a remote village in the Himalayas.

These women have mastered the artful process of collecting pashmina wool, hand-spinning yarn and individually dying each and every piece to create these scarves. Purchases of the International Women’s Day Scarf Collection will support these women and their community, helping them provide for their families by doing something they love.

Through the ResponsiblyAnn initiative, ANN INC. is dedicated to empowering 100,000 women around the globe through education and training about health, finances and beyond.

The International Women’s Day Scarf Collection ($128) is made from 100% wool and will be available for purchase at AnnTaylor.com beginning March 6. There will be four different colors offered: Lady Oxford, Saffron Thread, Bright Cherry Tomato and Electric Pink. Each scarf features its own variations – unique to the women who made it.

Discovering Your Personal Style

Recently, I’ve added style photos to my social media feed.  I wanted to share my personal style, which is categorized as chic and modern.

This leads me to the topic for the blog post. How can someone discover his or her personal style? Essentially it’s about self-awareness and understanding your clothing preferences. The definition of style is, “a distinctive appearance, typically determined by the principles according to which something is designed.”

The first step to discovering your personal style is identifying a style icon. Do you prefer the total appearance of Lady Gaga or Michelle Obama?  Grab a few magazines and create a stylebook.

The next action is to visit your closet and examine pieces you have worn on numerous occasions.  This could be a fedora hat or cardigan sweater.  Are those items complimenting your features and body type (circle, triangle, hourglass, rectangle)?

Consider your lifestyle and occupation when curating your wardrobe.  A corporate executive should invest in a high quality suit; same concept applies for weekly Pilates sessions.

Accessories are the best assets for discovering your personal style.  They allow you to change a look without purchasing new clothing.  A classic wristwatch can upgrade an inexpensive blouse.

Ultimately, it’s about feeling great and presenting yourself in a positive manner!

Quick Wardrobe Tips:

  •  Invest in alterations for ill-fitting items
  •  Use the dry-cleaners sparingly – can damage clothing fibers
  •  Spend extra money on work shoes, blazers, jeans, bras, suiting, and outerwear
  •  Find unique pieces at consignment or thrift shops

Pantone’s 2017 Greenery – brought to you by Ann Taylor

“Going green” is here to stay as a lifestyle trend and this year it’s time for wardrobes to go green, too. Pantone’s color of the year – greeneryis a color representation of “out with the old and in with the new.” Sure to be seen throughout the year, greenery inspires fresh starts, new beginnings and evokes a sense of calm.

Ann Taylor’s spring 2017 collection features shades of greenery in trends such as classic stripes, emerald jewel tones and botanical prints.
