Simone Biles in Sherri Hill – VMAS 2016 Red Carpet Look

IMG_6328

American Gymnast Simone Biles wore a Sherri Hill Design to the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.  The red beaded dress accented her toned figure and styled with a coordinating clutch/bootie.

The gymnast was also seen on-stage receiving a hug from Beyonce and snapping selfies with Kim Kardashian.

This look was a red carpet hit due to the effortless cut and style from the Sherri Hill Fall 2016 Collection.

Cassie VMAS 2016 Red Carpet Look

Cassie graced the red carpet wearing a hot, new look for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. The singer was seen in a Balmain Jacket and Gucci Metallic Leggings. Her accessories for the evening included a Gold Body Chain and Handbag.

The eye-opener was Cassie’s neon hair color; very fitting for the awards show red carpet!

To re-create this look, fashion girls (and guys) can visit their local ASOS store online.  Simply purchase a Ponte Blazer and Gold Leggings.  Pair this look with a Body Chain and Zip Pouch Handbag. For a more conservative twist, add a Fitted Cami Top underneath the blazer.

Don’t forget to accent the hair with Blonde Hairspray, Extensions, or even a Wig. The singer/dancer’s red carpet look was trendy, fun, and inspirational.  Dare to be different!

Jill Scott Concert 2016 – Songstress and Poet

One of my favorite quotes is “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams” by Eleanor Roosevelt.  This quote is significant in terms of goal setting and personal achievement.

Attending a Jill Scott concert was a goal on my personal to-do list.  Jill Scott is a soulful singer and her voice has a variety of range.  As a song-writer, her lyrics go beyond the surface; addressing topics that are realistic to listeners.

I was gifted a set of tickets from my brother (and sister-in-law) to take part in her performance at the Amphitheater located in Tuscaloosa.

Jill Scott’s concert pushed beyond the limits of watching a songstress to viewing a “seasoned” artist/poet.

She gave us relationship advice and shared reflections from her own life. The concert was amazing and I encourage anyone who’s a fan of her music to purchase tickets from ticketmaster.com

Italian lifestyle brand La Perla is pleased to introduce Julia Haart as Creative Director beginning with the Spring/Summer 2017 season, which will debut a Women’s Ready-to-Wear collection, a natural addition to La Perla’s core lingerie and beachwear collections.

The designer takes over from Pedro Lourenço, who completed his contract in July 2016. La Perla thanks Pedro Lourenço for his vision executing the first phase of evolution for the brand towards a complete lifestyle proposition.

Julia worked closely with the La Perla design team on two inspiring accessories collaborations: Spring/Summer 2016 and Fall/Winter 2016-2017. She will continue the brand’s evolution this season into women’s Ready-to-Wear.

Julia Haart is a rare female Creative Director in the industry, and has a strong connection to La Perla’s brand heritage, born from the vision of female creator Ada Masotti.

La Perla 2

La Perla has a strong identity: core to its DNA is the mission and expertise to design garments that highlight femininity with stunning fabrics, luxurious details and attention to comfort and form.

Julia Haart, with the established design team’s support, will be Creative Director overseeing lingerie, sleepwear, beachwear, accessories and menswear lines, and the new Ready-to-Wear collection, all of which begin with an unrivaled understanding of building the closest garments to women’s bodies.

With skin-close expertise and a woman at the helm, La Perla aims to transform the expectations women have for what clothes can do, and how they feel when they get dressed.

From Chairman Silvio Scaglia:
Julia Haart comes to La Perla as a trusted advisor, bringing consideration of the female body and experience of wear and beauty as a primary focus. La Perla’s Spring/Summer ’17 collection will be a revolutionary one, not just for our brand but for women’s fashion in general, thanks to a strong mix of our Atelier’s savoir faire, a woman who is extremely talented as a creative director and the best materials in the world. Julia’s work is emblematic of the La Perla lifestyle and I am excited to work with her on this new cornerstone of the brand’s history.

Founded in 1954 by the talented corsetry maker Ada Masotti, La Perla is the leading Italian lingerie and beachwear maison. Artisanal heritage, knowledge of the female body, blend of innovation and tradition and Italian identity are the founding values of the La Perla universe. In the second half of 2013, the company was acquired by Pacific Global Management, owned by Silvio Scaglia’s family holding and already active in the fashion industry through the world largest model management network, operating under the brands Elite, Women and The Society. La Perla sells its creations through a network of flagship stores, shop-in-shops and corners located in the heart of the most important fashion districts, as well as being present in the best department stores and specialized boutiques worldwide. The company offers collections of lingerie, sleepwear, beachwear, loungewear and accessories for women and men who aim at expressing their style with ease and sophistication.

The Life of Pablo Pop-Up Shop – Merchandise Launch

Kanye West hosted “The Life of Pablo” Pop-Up Shop at 21 international locations. Merchandise sold at the stores included Basic T-Shirts, Bomber Jackets, Hoodies, Military Jackets, and Baseball Caps.

Several fashion enthusiasts visited the shop.  Potential customers waited outside for several hours to view the merchandise.  Thus, the collection received mixed reviews due to the price, style, and return policy of the clothing.

Visual design of the pop-up shop was reminiscent of a minimalistic style with white walls, mirrors, and a few racks of clothing.

It was an interesting launch for “The Life of Pablo” Collection and sure this is only the beginning for the Music Artist and Fashion Designer.
