The Hottest NYFW Trends – PHYTO, Tata Harper & Sarah Potempa

PHYTO and Tata Harper Skincare were behind the scenes at Nicole Miller, Jill Stuart, Phelan, The Brock Collection, TOME and Zero Maria Cornejo during NYFW 2016.

GET THE FRONT ROW FIXTURE LOOK: EMILY BLUNT WITH SARAH POTEMPA (below products are available at Beachwaver.com & Ulta.com):

1) Create a natural middle part and loosely blowdry with The Beachwaver Co. On Set Styling Brush.

2) Using The Beachwaver Co. Darby Clips, section the hair starting at the bottom and working your way up. Curl the hair with The Beachwaver Co. BEACHWAVER S.75, but leave 2″ out to create soft, natural wave.

3) Smooth over the ends with the The Beachwaver Co. Coast Pro Styling Ironand add pomade for a subtle texture on the ends.

GET THE LOOK: NICOLE MILLER WITH TOMO JIDAL FOR PHYTO PARIS

INSPIRATION:  A modern take on the French woman

LOOK: French beauty meets boho-chic, fringe and grunge

  1. Apply PHYTO PHYTO Phytokeratine Repairing Spray and PHYTOIntense Volume Mousse, section by section.
  2. Then distribute PHYTO Phytolisse Serum mid-lengths to the ends.
  3. Blow dry while raking fingers through the hair.
  4. Use tongs of a 1 inch or half inch curling iron (depending on hair length) to create a ridge sort of texture on hair. Style large sections at a time.
  5. Brush out the hair with a large comb or fingers.
  6. Attach the fringe/bangs clip (match extensions color to hair color) in which have already been texturized using the PHYTO Intense Volume Mousse and PHYTO Phytokeratine Repairing Spray.
  7. Cut the fringe to the right length.
  8. Apply PHYTO Phytovolume Actif Spray all over then shake the hair out.

GET THE LOOK: JILL STUART SHOW WITH DIDIER MALIGE

  1. Prep the hair with PHYTO Phytokeratine Repairing Thermal Protectant Spray from root to end.
  2. Add a pea size amount of PHYTO 9 or PHYTO 7 from mid-shaft to end, depending on hair texture.

INSPIRATION: The hair mixes masculine and feminine elements for a tight, soft, yet structured look.

LOOK: Sophisticated juxtaposition. 90’s minimalism meets graphic realism.

Colors of Life Show by Mimi Tran: NYFW 2016

There have been a lot of creative master pieces and gorgeous collections to grace the runway, including last nights ‘Colors of Life’ show by Mimi Tran, at the Angel Orensanz Foundation. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of Mimi’s breathtaking bridal gown, after an exquisite line up of ready to wear pieces and formal gowns. Her collection included bright reds, pinks and turquoise’s all inspired by her 13 year old daughter. The formal wear is perfect for the red carpet, proms, and even weddings (either as the bride or a guest) – the lace details and trims will leave you looking stunning no matter where you go, and for a little extra sparkle flower details are the new sequins in this collection.

ABOUT MIMI TRAN:

Born in Vietnam, Mimi Tran relocated to Paris at the age of seven where she eventually attended boarding school and was recognized as a gifted child in free style art. At 14, her family moved to the United States where she later graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and began her career at Cisco. She earned an MBA in International Business Management from Santa Clara University, but her artistic side kept pulling her toward a means of creative expression. About Katie Gallagher – Eclipse SS17
Secretive, unknown, mysterious, Black, the darkest color yet the color with no color at all, represents both full absorption and complete absence of light, evil and elegance. Constantly inspired by this hue that has no hue, Katie Gallagher’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection, Eclipse, is her third all-black collection, followed by last season’s all black collection, Veiled and her initial collection, S/S 2010, Veil.
Gallagher’s current monochromatic collection relies on textures and subtle details, highlighting her obsessions with gothic architecture, Harry Clarke illustrations and traditional Catholic rituals and symbols. She complements these heavy themes with lightweight fabrics and whimsical embroidery.
Through Eclipse, Gallagher combines Swiss Dot sheer jackets with delicate lace and pony fur, English tulle skirts and tops feature embroidered hearts, dots and crosses. Gallagher pairs gathered, twisted seams with grosgrain ribbons and silver zippers, defining her SS17 collection.

Tracy Reese NYFW SS’17 Presentation and Cantu Beauty

Cantu debuted at their very first NYFW show this afternoon for Tracy Reese’s SS’17 presentation. The show featured a mix of models paired with inspirational and noteworthy, real women such as Bethann Hardison and Sasheer Zamata. Using Cantu products, lead stylist Bok-Hee created an ethereal, whimsical half-up messy bun on models, while utilizing the natural textures of each the real women to embrace their own style!

Hair How To: Model Look

Hairstylist: Bok-Hee for Cantu

  1. Starting with the natural hair texture, work through a small amount of Cantu Wave Whip Curling Mousse($5.99, Target.com) to define natural wave pattern
  2. Take a large section from the sides, top and crown area and loosely pull into messy half bun, using an elastic to secure it in place. Make sure to leave a few wispy pieces falling naturally along the sides of the face back through the nape of the neck.
  3. Gently tug on hair that is pulled back to add slight imperfections, then loosely pin the bun to head.
  4. Spritz Cantu Coil Calm Detangler ($4.97, Walmart.com) to loosen and define texture of hair that is not in the knot
  5. Finish off the look with a few  sprigs of baby’s breathe or jeweled barrette
