Shoedazzle Color Of The Month – Daffodil Accessories

Daffodil is considered the new Shoedazzle color of the month.  The accessories brand has an array of Daffodil inspired handbags, jewelry, and shoes.  First Lady, Michelle Obama wore a similar shade in a beautiful sheath dress.  This inspired women to wear the hue while adding a pop of color into their wardrobe.

It’s the perfect Spring shade because this color mixes (and matches) well with every fashion piece. Trendsetters and Style Bloggers are seen wearing Daffodil colored eyeshadow, nail polish, and hair accessories.

For an everyday look, pair (Daffodil) yellow accessories with a jumpsuit, jeans, or basic t-shirt.  Color trends are fun to wear but don’t forget to make the style your own!

Harbor East Fifth Annual FashionEASTa Fashion Show

Harbor East celebrates five years of bringing fashion to the streets of downtown Baltimore at the Fifth Annual FashionEASTa: The Fashion Show, taking place Saturday, April 30 on Aliceanna Street in Harbor East and supporting Dress for Success Baltimore. The city’s hottest shopping destination takes center stage at this festival-like event, showcasing the fashions of some of its most notable retailers including Anthropologie, Free People, South Moon Under and many more. Throughout the day guests can shop in-store sales and style events, groove to live entertainment, and enjoy cocktails and light fare from Harbor East restaurants. The festivities culminate with a showcase of the best of spring fashion as the hottest looks hit the runway for the FashionEasta Fashion Show, sponsored by Baltimore magazine.

Over the last several years Harbor East has emerged as Baltimore’s go-to shopping destination, attracting renowned national labels as well as the best of local boutiques and fashion-forward brands. 2016 is proving to be no different as the neighborhood welcomes Brooks Brothers and Warby Parker, with both retailers slated to open in the weeks leading up to FashionEASTa.

Serena Williams Look – Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Serena Williams looked stunning last night at The Vanity Fair Oscar Party.  She was seen wearing a lace gown created by designer Galia Lahav.  The entire look was flawless, showcasing Serena with an elegant bob (hairstyle) and flawless, glowing makeup.

I have to admit, this was my favorite red carpet look!  The style of this dress accentuates her amazing figure while appearing sexy, stylish, and timeless.  This all white ensemble truly adds to Serena Williams “super star” quality.

The Look: Sultry, youthful and voluminous

The Inspiration: Celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel was inspired by the construction and details of the Calvin Klein dress. “I wanted to give her an undone, textured blowout with a brushed out beautiful wave hand raked back away from the face,” he says.

How to Get the Look:

  • He started by applying John Frieda® Luxurious Volume Perfectly Full™ Mousse all over the roots on towel dried hair. He then air-dried the hair with 100% cold air to achieve maximum volume.
  • Then using a medium sized round brush, he dried the hair applying hot air to form the style.
  • Then he divided the hair in two-inch sections and wrapped each section into a Velcro roller allowing it cool and set. He did this throughout the entire head.
  • Before removing the rollers, he sprayed John Frieda® Luxurious Volume Forever Full™ Hairspray to set the look. He then removed the rollers, applying more spray to a Mason Pearson brush and brushed the hair into soft textured sexy waves.
  • He then backcombed the front pieces of hair to create height for a sexy sultry side swept effect.
  • To finish, he misted John Frieda Luxurious Volume Forever Full™ Hairspray to lock in the style for the night.

Shoedazzle – Stiletto Society Brand Ambassador

I was invited to join the Stiletto Society, Shoedazzle‘s exclusive brand ambassador program.  I’m extremely excited because I joined Shoedazzle two years ago for specific reasons.  Although I love to own stylish clothing, my shoe wardrobe was suffering tremendously.  I owned several pairs of shoes but they were not fashionable and did not fit my lifestyle.  I needed a variety of pumps, platforms, and boots.

I came across Shoedazzle through the internet and started to research their subscription.  The membership was easy and affordable.  What intrigued me the most was that my order arrived at my doorstep!  The membership has been a good experience but I have a few tips:

    1. Know your exact shoe size prior to ordering.
    2. Use a shoe insoles for 4 inch heels.
    3. Store your shoes properly after each wear.
    4. Have fun mixing and matching in your current wardrobe.

Since that time, I have also expanded my accessories to the Shoedazzle handbag collection.  I was curious about their purses and needed to give my other brands a break.  To my surprise, I received my first handbag in the mail.  The quality of the bag was nice and the style was true to the website picture.

Check back with this site (over the next few months) because I will be hosting style parties, sharing special deals, and of course…new shoes!

Fashion Tips with Dryel At-Home Dry Cleaner

Dry cleaning your wardrobe can be costly!  We love to wear cashmere sweaters, wool coats, and boucle’ slacks but the care for such garments are expensive.  One can purchase these items on sale but must calculate the price of dry cleaning in their shopping budget.

As a Style Expert, I always share that fashion girls (and guys) must properly care for their clothing to maintain a stylish wardrobe.  It’s more than dressing fabulous and owning several pieces.  In this day and time, we have to take our budget into consideration and be realistic about our clothing expenses.

Hanging out with the clothing rack

Truthfully, I also like to mix and match my own clothing.  It’s a personal preference for several good reasons. Number one, I am obsessed with closet organization. Number two, I like to come up with various ways that I can style one item. Number three, I’m a mom and my shopping list consists of additional household products.

As a reader, you will also have the opportunity to follow my journey via Twitter Chats, Pinterest Boards, and so much more.  Let’s get ready to learn more about the special care of our clothing with the help of Dryel.
