August was National Coffee Month and people everywhere celebrated this delicious beverage. I’m an avid coffee drinker and brew a pot daily. Some people like to enjoy a cup of tea but there’s a few tricks to brewing coffee at home.
I like to use filtered water for the best results; add hazelnut (or vanilla) syrup along with creamer and sugar. If you’re monitoring your sugar intake, substitute with a sweetener. Take your coffee up a notch by adding whipped cream and cinnamon. As a hobby, my mom and I like to purchase flavored coffee beans such French Roast, Pumpkin, or Caramel Pecan. It’s fun to taste the various spices and scents!
Also, the best place to store a bag of coffee is in a cool, airtight container to ensure the flavor’s not lost. Last Sunday, I had the chance to share coffee, espresso, and tea brewing products on WBAL TV Baltimore. I am always enthusiastic about discussing fashion, parent, or home products.

I had a great time visiting WBAL – TV Baltimore and hope the items (shown) will encourage my audience to enjoy brewing products at home.

Macys has always been one of my favorite retailers. For me, it’s more than just the mere act of shopping but I lean towards the overall experience. I like the store layout, they carry my favorite brands, and the prices are affordable (and the coupons) are amazing!
One hidden secret that many shoppers may not know is that Macys has an in-store styling consultant. This is a wonderful service at specific stores (nationwide) that can benefit any busy mom, professional, or lady on the go!
My on-site store was located in Annapolis, Maryland where Teresa Borradaile assisted me in selecting a few items. The process began with a simple phone call; Teresa asked me a series of questions about my size, personal style, and favorite colors. From there, I arrived at her office where she pulled together several looks and accessories. Some of the brands included Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, INC International Concepts, and Vince Camuto.
I was pleasantly surprised because we only had a 10 minute conversation and Teresa narrowed down my personal style with about ten looks! She also explained the process of scheduling time with her consulting service which is Monday – Friday during the store hours. Clients can enjoy refreshments, try on garments, and purchase items in her office. Another fabulous tip, she also assists with wedding registry from selecting gowns and tuxedos to bridal party gifts.
Overall, this was an amazing experience and I truly encourage everyone to schedule time with a Macys Personal Stylist. Last note, if you’re like me and can’t make a final decision about a product, your personal shopper can hold items and allow you time to make a purchase. Visit www.macys.com and schedule time to enjoy this VIP Service at Macys Westfield Annapolis.
Consumers are increasingly more aware that fruits and vegetables that are in-season, harvested closer to their peak ripeness, and transported shorter distance retain more nutrients. However, according to the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture, it is estimated that the average American meal still travels about 1,500 miles to go from picked to plate.
In fact, the National Grocery Association’s 2014 Consumer Panel found that more locally grown foods and price/cost savings topped the list of the improvements desired most among the shoppers surveyed.
Today, BJs Wholesale Club is shortening the distance from farm to table by buying fresh produce from local Maryland farms and getting it onto Maryland club shelves in under 24 hours:

BJs local produce sourcing is at the lead of a growing trend. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), industry estimates suggest that local food sales in America have nearly doubled in recent years, jumping from $5 billion in 2008 to $11.7 billion in 2014.
In Maryland, BJs is offering Yellow Squash, Zucchini Squash, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Peppers, Eggplant and Corn from Arnold Farms in Chestertown; Miller Farms in Clinton and Vincent Farms in Del Mar.

Teen Vogue hosted Back – To – School Saturdays with Simon Property Group at Arundel Mills Mall on Saturday, August 8, 2015. I had the opportunity to attend as a blogger and this was a fun event!
Back – To – School Saturdays started at the registration table where mall guests could register for coupons and savings. Music was played by a local DJ while guests enjoyed cupcakes, mocktails, and pretzels. Vendor booths where also in place to provide hair and beauty makeovers along with John Casablancas Modeling Agency.
The retailers featured in the fashion show included Banana Republic, Express, and The Loft. Models came out and walked the floor to showcase fashion trends. To help guests capture the event via social media, everyone was asked to use the hashtag #BTSS and #FoundatSimon for a chance to print photos at the photobox. Overall, this was a great way to bring fashion awareness to the area and get everyone excited for the upcoming school year. To participate in your local Simon and Teen Vogue event visit the website and search upcoming dates.
Additional Information:
Teen Vogue and Simon have also produced a special eight-page style guide featuring trends for Back-to-School, as identified by Teen Vogue editors, with each profiled piece found at Simon. In addition, Simon will extend the section to a full-blown magalog, complete with a shopping guide of products, to be distributed at Arundel Mills as part of BTSS.
Further extending the partnership, Teen Vogue and Simon have chosen YouTuber Amanda Steele (@MakeupbyMandy24) to star in a series of shopping haul videos, showing how she shops Simon centers to achieve Teen Vogue’s three highlighted trends. The videos will debut just in time for the back to school shopping rush, with the content running across all Teen Vogue and Simon digital and social platforms.
