Christopher Bailey’s Final Burberry Collection and Video Highlights for London Fashion Week

Burberry tonight celebrated ‘Time’, Christopher Bailey’s final collection for the brand, against a multisensory installation that forms part of a new collaboration with United Visual Artists (UVA).

‘Our Time’, a piece of work on loan from the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Australia, investigates the subjective experience of the passing of time through movement, light and sound, and was reimagined in collaboration with Christopher, to provide the backdrop to the runway collection. The installation’s pendulums swung to their own rhythm in time to the show’s soundtrack by Jimmy Somerville, The Communards and Bronski Beat.

Models including past and present campaign stars Adwoa Aboah, Jean Campbell, Montell Martin and Edie Campbell – who appeared in her first Burberry campaign in 2006 – revealed the collection, which revisited past icons and house codes, including the trench coat, the aviator, the cape, the poncho and the military coat as well as introduced new designs.

The Rainbow check, the latest iteration of Burberry’s most iconic symbol and designed as part of Christopher’s dedication of his last collection to LGBTQ+ communities, featured throughout the show. A capsule of reissued archive pieces from the 1980s and 1990s rereleased as part of this collection is now available for immediate purchase.

Cara Delevingne, discovered by Christopher and Burberry over seven years ago, closed the show and led the finale as models walked under a spectrum of rainbow laser lights.

Over 1300 guests attended to watch the show including close Burberry friends and family including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Keira Knightley, Zendaya Coleman, Naomi Watts, Michelle Dockery, Naomie Harris, Iris Law, Lily James, Matt Smith, Jourdan Dunn, Kate Mara, Idris Elba, Domhnall Gleeson, Tom Holland, Paris Jackson, James Righton, Zhou Dongyu, Chelsea Clinton, Nicholas Hoult, Poppy Delevingne, Alexa Chung, George Ezra, James Bay, Paloma Faith, Liam Gallagher, Skepta, Tinie Tempah, Tom Odell, Jorja Smith, Blondey McCoy, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Lucy Moore, Matt Clark, Jamie Bell, Tessa Thompson, Anya Taylor-Joy, Koharu Sugawara, Daphne Guinness, Stephen Jones, Mason Lee, Law Roach, Ji Woo Choi, Steve McQueen and Angela Ahrendts.

‘My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to – and in support of – some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world. There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity.’

Saks Fifth Avenue – 2016 Fall Preview Catalog

Fashion industry professionals are prepping for the upcoming fall season. Designers and retailers actively work behind the scenes; creating new visual displays to showcase merchandise and entice customers.

Saks Fifth Avenue is no exception.  The company provides an online 2016 Fall Preview catalog for shoppers to start planning their purchases.  A few of the trends shown include suede jackets, saddle bags, and motif designed clothing. There’s also hints of block heel pumps and plaid wrap midi skirts.

Shopping for the next season can be fun with the right store, merchandise, or price!

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2013: We’ve Fallen In Love

Burberry has revamped their orignal print to a fun array of hearts galor!  The brand that was once known for it’s sophisticated plaid print has made us “fall in love” with their Prorsum Fall 2013 Heart Collection.

From handbags to blouses, this print looks great with everything and compliments everyone.  Personally, I like to see stylistas mix the print for a more daring look.  With the use of miniature hearts, this was the perfect way to refresh one of America’s favorite brands.

Drugstore Beauty Products: The Editor’s Obsession

As a mom, I’m constantly running to the drugstore to pick up something.  Of course while I’m  shopping I will come across the standard drugstore items such as cleaning solutions and soap, but I can’t resist the urge to check out what’s new on the beauty products aisle.

The reason I love drugstore, beauty products is because they are generally inexpensive which means there’s no loss in trying something new.  But most importantly, the products are good quality and in line with the latest trends as it relates to the beauty industry.  Most products range from makeup, hair care, skin, nails, eyebrows, lashes, and even perfume!   And what’s really great is that local drugstores will run a sale on select items for the week to make room for something new (and to make a profit.)

Lastly, if you stop by the beauty aisle during the holiday season most stores have a new shipment of makeup kits (for the cheap price of $10.00) or small stocking stuffers such as cosmetics bags or manicure kits for $5.00.   For me, shopping in the local drugstore is truly the ultimate guilty pleasure!
