BEAUTIFUL RIGHTS – Pantsuit Pink to March on Washington

Beautiful Rights, a cause-driven makeup initiative founded by renowned makeup artist and product developer Kristen Therese Leonard, is taking a stand to ensure that women’s rights continue to be given their share of voice in our country’s future. Beautiful Rights was created to remind every woman to speak up, and that the responsibility lies within each of us to protect the rights women have fought so hard to acquire. Just in time for the Women’s March on Washington, Beautiful Rights is lowering the price on their makeup by 20%. Pantsuit Pink will now be the official lip color of the March.

A Beautiful Rights bus full of women headed to Washington with founder Kristen Leonard to participate in the March. These women are wearing the Pantsuit Pink lipstick as a proud display of their dedication to the causes Beautiful Rights supports. Pantsuit Pink is a rosy red shade that honors the same lipstick color Hilary Clinton wore on the campaign trail in last year’s presidential election. Beautiful Rights is now encouraging all women to stand up for their rights by purchasing Pantsuit Pink lipstick and wearing it on their march. Beautiful Rights is promoting women’s rights by donating 20% of all sales (not profits) to organizations that support women’s causes, such as Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, Emily’s List, Lambda Legal and Legal Momentum. The 20% contribution is a reminder that women in the U.S. still get paid 20% less than men for doing the same work. With the news of the defunding of Planned Parenthood by the GOP, it’s now more imperative than ever for women and men to support women’s rights and to take a stand! Not only is Beautiful Rights supporting great initiatives, it also provides women with top-of-line, luxury beauty products. The formulas have been developed with the highest grade, exclusive blend of natural oils, such as Coconut, Avocado, Jojoba, Grape seed and olive — along with other lip-loving ingredients — to deliver added benefits and a luxurious experience with each swipe of lipstick or gloss.

Beautiful Rights offers lip products in universally flattering shades that will wear beautifully on all women, with one sheer, shimmering lip gloss, “Gloss Ceiling” and two shades of creamy, long-wearing lipstick: “Pantsuit Pink” and “Politically Pout”. The stylish, “fractured glass” creative design was developed to emphasize both how far we’ve come as women, and how much further we have to go. All development and manufacturing for Beautiful Rights is done in New York State, U.S.A. Learn more about Beautiful Rights and purchase our products on www.BeautifulRights.com.

Celebrity makeup artist, Allan Avendaño gave Sarah Hyland a simple, yet bold makeup look to complement her yellow two-piece outfit with turquoise jewelry.

Avendaño began creating Sarah’s look starting with the eyes first using the Pür Minerals Cease Crease Eye Shadow Primer to create a flawless base. He then used the Soul Mattes Eye Shadow Palette and applied the Confidant shade all over the eyelid. Using a fluffy crease brush, he patted Sidekick and Alter on the outer corners of the eye and blended the shades into the crease. He used that same shadow combination on the bottom lash line.

“To soften any hard edges, I buffed the BFF shade into the crease and used the Companion shade on the brow bone,” says Avendaño.

He then applied two coats of the Pür Minerals Big Look Mascara on the top lashes and one coat on the bottom before applying individual lashes.

Avendaño used the Pür Minerals Color Correcting Primer Illuminate & Glow followed by the Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Liquid Foundation with SPF 15 in Blush Medium with a damp sponge for seamless application. To add dimension to Sarah’s face, he applied the Pür Minerals Mineral Glow on her cheekbones, temples and jawbones. He then applied the Pür Minerals Chateau Cheeks Pressed Powder Blush in Kinky on the apples of her cheeks to add more color.

To highlight, he used the Pür Minerals Afterglow Illuminating Powder on the high points of her cheekbones, the brow bones, the bridge of her nose, the inner corners of her eyes and her cupid’s brow.

To create full and bold-shaped brows, he used the Pür Minerals Wake Up Brows in Mocha and used the highlighter end to amplify the arch of her brow.

Avendaño finished off Sarah’s look by lining and filling in her lips with an orange-red lip liner and applied the Pür Minerals Chateau Kisses Plumping Lip Gloss in Foxy, giving her a hydrated, full and sexy pout.

Pat McGrath Transforms Kim Kardashian West into Cleopatra

Today, on the latest cover of The Violet Files, the editorial site of Hollywood insider and beauty guru Cassandra Grey, Kim Kardashian West is transformed into the iconic Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra through the artistry and makeup design by Pat McGrath.

“I would have done anything—I would have trusted Pat’s vision no matter what she wanted—but I was really excited that it was the Cleopatra vibe,” says Kim Kardashian West of the collaboration with makeup artist Pat McGrath.

“Elizabeth Taylor’s makeup in Cleopatra has been re-created countless times, but for Kim I wanted to create an interpretation that has never been done before, a futuristic 3D version,” Ms. McGrath explains. “I wanted to portray a luxurious decadence by using elements of ornate facial jewelry constructed into shapes that pay homage to Egyptian culture, and of course to the rich exotic character that Taylor portrayed in this role.”

“Her eyeshadow was made from ground lapis stone and gold pyrite flecks,” notes Ms. McGrath. “Incorporating three-dimensional gold metal into the makeup design explores the concept of makeup as jewelry. I wanted the images to be luxurious, evoking a modern take on the opulence associated with Cleopatra’s makeup.”

The images, shot by Ben Hassett, are the first installment in a series for VIOLET GREY in which Ms. McGrath will reimagine paragons of old Hollywood glamour with new faces.

Jami Headshot_cropped

1. Kiss and makeup…

Ditch the traditional “red” lip and go for a more kissable look like a
delicious nude color. Try: Philosophy’s lip shine in Coconut Frosting it
gives a hint of shimmer with a mild sweet taste.

2. Run your fingers through my hair or maybe not…

Loose the hair spray for the night. Nothing is more un-sexy than hard mane.
Touchable, soft hair is always a “do”. Try: Garnier’s Texture Spray for body
and bounce without the crunch.

3. Give it a glow…

For a quick J-Lo glow add a few drops of liquid luminizer to your
moisturizer. Try: Stila’s All Over Shimmer liquid.

4. Got a private beach…

Nothing says red-hot like bronzed skin. Use along the perimeter of your face
& jaw bone for a more realistic application. Also pick a brand that doesn’t
have too much shimmer. Try: Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer

5. It started with a wink…

Seduction begins with a good mascara! Give your eyes a bambi-like fringe
using lash fibers. It coats & builds on the ends of your natural lashes,
giving the appearance of falsies. Try: Loreal’s False Fiber Lash Mascara

About Jami:
