The Universal French Braid

The French Braid is one of the hottest styles for summer.  I love this style because it’s universal for all hair types. Whether your hair is straight or textured, the French Braid is the perfect protective style for a busy girl that’s on the go!  And if you’re on pinterest, there’s so many creative styles when braiding your hair which makes it fun, trendy, and effortless.

To help us create the French Braid (at home) I have embedded a video from youtube that gives us one by one steps.  You will also find inspiration from SLF Pinterest Board titled Beauty and Hair.

MACY’S BACK-TO-SCHOOL FASHION REPORT
This fall, girls can brighten up their wardrobe in unexpected ways with vibrantly colored accessories and accents in key colors like lime, marigold, teal and fuschia. Color blocking, peplum skirts and cropped skinny pants are staples. Look for ‘90s grunge to meet girlish charm with destroyed denim and studded leather jackets by day, and softer colored lace dresses and Mary Janes by night. Girls can polish their look with timeless, British-inspired capes, tie-neck blouses and textured knits in rich earth tones, or take a walk on the wild side with tribal-inspired animal knits, faux fur, trapper hats and metallic denim. Trendsetters will take classically masculine silhouettes like Peter Pan collar shirts and give them a hint of glamour by pairing them with ultra-girly tutu skirts.

The hottest looks for guys this fall include more traditional and preppy Ivy League looks that draw inspiration from the iconic uniform of shipyard workers. Look for pea coats, Henley’s, dark-rinsed denim and lug sole boots to define the look. For the athlete, active-inspired style defines the new uniform for the season. For the trendsetter, young Hollywood has rediscovered the essence of looking the part and the vibe is defined by everything that happens once the award shows are over. Embellishment is all the rage again as studs have become a key texture, covering everything from sneakers and fedoras to leather jackets for a look that is punk meets rock-and-roll.

HEAD BACK-TO-DORM IN STYLE
For college students heading to campus this season, Macy’s is helping you put it all together with the very best in dorm décor that lets you personalize your space and express your style. Vibrant floral comforters from Teen Vogue and bold stripe bedding from Lacoste make a statement for her, while guys keep it classic with navy and plaid comforter sets from Tommy Hilfiger and Lauren by Ralph Lauren. A dorm room staple, twin extra-long sheets from Bar III ensure a cozy slumber and a great fit, while colorful towels from Charter Club avoid roommate mix-ups. For great kitchen essentials, Stax Living dinnerware collection is microwave safe and shaped for efficient stacking and storage, making it a great choice.
