PFW Fall / Winter 2017: EWA MINGE Couture Show

Inspired by the ancient gypsy fables, Ewa Minge for her Couture collection fall-winter 2017/18 transports us into an enchanted, joyful and dancing world.
Multi-colored and multi-layered silhouettes, numerous details and accessories evoke the rich and singing world of this culture.
Appear on many garments embroideries and butterflies.
The above were created by the “students” of the Black Butterflies Foundation as part of the art-therapy.
Indeed, under the eye of the designer and this for several months, women who fight against cancer have made “small works of art” from pearls. And as they say, these butterflies helped us to pass this difficult time during treatment and transported us to another wonderful world where everything is possible.
Art helps to keep the disease away; These women will be present in Paris to attend the parade and see their butterflies fly into the great capital.
In this fashion show, Ewa Minge wants as well to present a model “Plus-Size” because she creates for all women and beauty does not have sizes …

LA PERLA Flagship Boutique Opening in Milan

KENDALL JENNER, LIU WEN AND MARIACARLA BOSCONO celebrated the La Perla Fall/Winter 2017 ready-to-wear collection and new flagship boutique located on via Montenapoleone in Milan on Thursday, February 23, 2017 during Milan Fashion Week where LA PERLA hosted a collection presentation and unveiling event.

The evening’s décor was inspired by the British garden — a nod to the brand’s most recent collection by Creative Director, Julia Haart. The stunning boutique, spanning over 2,583 square feet, came to life with a street-wide floral installation including pillars of blooming bougainvillea; cloaked in the brand’s FW17 NYFW runway video.

NYFW RECAP: Katie Gallagher FW17 “Hallow”

Even now this landscape is assembling.

The hills darken. The oxen

sleep in their blue yoke,

the fields having been

picked clean, the sheaves

bound evenly and piled at the roadside

among cinquefoil, as the toothed moon rises:

This is the barrenness

of harvest or pestilence.

And the wife leaning out the window

with her hand extended, as in payment,

and the seeds

distinct, gold, callin

Come here

Come here, little one

And the soul creeps out of the tree.

Louise Glück, “All Hallows,” 1968

Set in New England during autumn, Katie Gallagher’s Fall/Winter 2017 collection, Hallow, finds inspiration in men’s military apparel, specifically the MA-1 bomber jacket. Developed in the 1940s, the bomber jacket provided warmth and safety to pilots during air combat in WWII.

In the decades following, the garment became one of the most identifiable pieces of military apparel, finding its way into popular culture by the end of the 20th century. Gallagher has featured iterations of the bomber jacket in many of her past collections, using tulle, lace, and other unlikely materials to create the traditionally heavy, masculine garment.

Like early bomber jackets that were lined in orange, Gallagher’s color palette will feature black and orange hues, which also recall the colors of autumn and death most commonly associated with All Hallow’s Eve.

Hallow relies heavily on textures and subtle details, featuring point d’esprit and tulle that form non-traditional, dainty, and triangular silhouettes. Materials include airy swiss dot paired with heavy opaque wool, silk, English tulle, Mountain Goat, lambskin, and pony fur leathers. Gallagher’s signature twisted seams finish turtleneck sleeves and leggings.

Hallow is Gallagher’s 16th collection. Gallagher’s past collections have been celebrated by Vogue, The Cut, Nylon, Glamour, Refinery 29, W Magazine and Teen Vogue, among others, for her attention to detail, superior craftsmanship, and creativity. She pulls inspiration from her childhood, music, art, and her life in New York City. More information is available at katiegallagher.com.

LA PERLA S/S 2017 CAMPAIGN SHOT BY STEVEN KLEIN

Shattered glass, bra bursting in flame, an antiquated constrictive corset.  These symbolic images have been chosen by American photographer Steven Klein to underline the key concept of the new La Perla SS17 campaign: the liberation of every woman from the need to suffer for beauty. This style revolution, which starts from the body and follows every movement with luxurious stretch materials and expertly crafted forms, is born from the brand’s deep understanding of how to enhance and celebrate the female form.

La Perla’s lingerie, ready-to-wear and beachwear collections for Spring/Summer 2017 are brought to life through Steven Klein’s lens, with an explosive visual message which underlines the personalities of the three top models who are the faces of the new collection.

Kendall Jenner is the new star of this campaign and was personally selected by La Perla’s creative director, Julia Haart to interpret the highly innovative path that the brand has set out on. Kendall’s contemporary charisma adds an unmistakable touch to every garment, simultaneously highlighting the modernity and the relaxed, self-assured elegance of each piece she wears.

Isabeli Fontana is a face of the La Perla brand for the second time, her Latin allure bringing to life the garments which were created to celebrate curves as a symbol of female identity.

Liu Wen, the first Chinese model to reach the top of the international rankings, renews her role as ambassador of the La Perla style in the Far East and reveals her more intense and sensual side.

The campaign shot by Steven Klein is broken down into a series of images full of intense colors that focus on the luxury of the silks and the exclusive fabrics which represent the soul not only of the lingerie garments but also of the new ready-to-wear collection which has marked Julia Haart’s arrival as creative director.

The shoot was held in New York under the artistic direction of Fabien Baron.

Julie Vino Fall 2017 Collection Inspired by Historic Napoli

The Fall 2017 collection range was inspired by the historic city of Napoli; the regal gowns are a continuation of ‘Roma’ which launched last season. The city of Napoli has a modern and lively culture within its ancient and historic setting.

Much like the city, Julie Vino’s Fall ‘17 collection boasts classic styles with a modern flair. The rich Italian references can be seen in every last detail; from semi-sheer layered tulle with hand alençon lace appliques to the intricate crested bodices. With flirty plunging necklines, exquisite hand brocading and delicate lace details, Julie Vino has delivered another breathtaking collection for the fashion forward bride.
