Taylor Schilling – EMMYS with John Frieda Hair Care

THE LOOK: Modern elegance.

INSPIRATION: John Frieda International Creative Consultant Harry Josh gave Taylor Schilling an elegant, voluminous look for tonight’s EMMYS, “Taylor’s dress has a bohemian Grecian vibe and strong color so we thought it would be cool to take something classic and make it more modern – the volume on the sides gives a contemporary pyramid shape and the relaxed waves evoke glamour,” he says.

Here is his step-by-step breakdown:

To begin, Harry applied John Frieda Luxurious Volume Volume Building Mousse on towel dried hair for maximum volume and width.
Then, Harry loosely blow dried sections of her hair with a round brush.
After blow drying, he used the Harry Josh Pro Tools 2-in-1 Ceramic Marcel Curling Iron to create waves – making sure to wrap the hair around the iron in the same direction.
Once the curls set, he finished off the look with John Frieda Luxurious Volume All-Day Hold Hairspray to give the hair some shine and to keep it from falling flat.

Emmys Cocktail and Beverage Ideas from Drizly

Drizly has created three cocktails to help you enjoy the evening, a Pre-Show Punch, a Backstage Boulevardier, and below is a dessert cocktail in honor of the show – Empire!

Cookie (Lyons) Delight

One of the best and most memorable TV characters from this year’s nominees. This adult milkshake is dedicated to the leading lady in FOX’s hit show Empire.

Ingredients (serves 1):

3 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur

3 scoops of chocolate ice cream

6 oz milk

3-4 ice cubes

2 medium FRESH chocolate chip cookies

Directions:

In a blender combine ice cream, Bailey’s, milk, one cookie, and ice cubes. Blend until smooth (add more milk or ice cream to get to your desired consistency). Crumble up the remaining cookie by hand or with a knife. Pour drink into pint glass and add cookie crumbs on top. Serve with a straw and spoon for maximum enjoyment.

This season, Emmy nominated costume designer Daniel Lawson will be joining Lafayette 148 New York for an exclusive fashion presentation at Saks Fifth Avenue at Chevy Chase, Maryland on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11am.

“I can always rely on Lafayette 148 New York for their chic, elegant and modern looks to put on my leading ladies,” says Lawson who has been using Lafayette 148 designs on CBS’s critically acclaimed drama series “The Good Wife” starring Julianna Margulies, Christine Baranski and Chris Noth, and is often cited as one of the “best dressed shows on TV.”

South Moon Under – Anniversary Event Recap

South Moon Under hosted it’s 10 – year anniversary on Thursday, September 10, 2015 in Harbor East. The event was open to the public; guests had the opportunity to win giftcards, enjoy refreshments and listen to music from a live DJ. There was also a photo booth available to take pictures and play around with cool props!

I attended the event (as media) to have a good time and enjoy the fashion of this hip store. It’s the perfect spot for the girl who has her own style. South Moon Under carries the latest brands such as Free People, Rebecca Minkoff, 7 for All Mankind, and Abbeline (to name a few.) There’s something for everyone from home decor, jewelry, and accessories. One can mix and match items to pull off a hot look; for example a faux leather baby doll dress paired with booties. I’m looking forward to making South Moon Under my staple store for unique, fashionable pieces.
