KENDALL JENNER AND MARY J. BLIGE WEAR LA PERLA HAUTE COUTURE TO THE 2017 COSTUME INSTITUTE GALA IN NEW YORK

Kendall Jenner and Mary J. Blige attend the 2017 Met Gala clad in two creations from the La Perla Haute Couture Collection designed by Creative Director Julia Haart. Jenner donned an all-over crystal draped gown in dégradé shades, complete with a barely-there painted macramé bodysuit. Blige debuted La Perla’s latest innovation: latex lace. The corseted column gown in stretch tulle, latex lace, and silk cady perfectly links La Perla’s lingerie heritage with its future in haute couture.

ABOUT KENDALL JENNER’S GOWN
Created from 85,000 hand painted and placed crystals, Jenner’s La Perla gown is a culmination of over 160 hours of work, spanning 5 cities and 26 craftsmen. Each hand painted crystal is placed en dégradé, creating a flow of color from Diamond into Jet Hematite and finishing off in Jet Black.

“I was inspired by Rei Kawakubo’s concept of ‘un-fabric’ and her ability to create movement out of seemingly immobile materials. So, I created my own ‘un-fabric’ by affixing stones to a single thread, creating a beautiful and liquid suspension that mirrored the qualities of a fine silk.” – Julia Haart, La Perla Creative Director

ABOUT MARY J BLIGE’S GOWN:
Inspired by Rei Kawakubo’s concept of ‘un-fabric,’ Creative Director Julia Haart created hand-sculpted latex lace as the principal feature for Blige’s provocative column gown. Starting with a corset that features a built-in La Perla bra, the black stretch tulle is adorned with scalloped latex lace and hand-placed boning detail.

“I am so honored to be attending the Met Gala with the legendary Mary J. Blige. Her strength and femininity inspired me to create a gown that is both tough and feminine – strong and sexy.” – Julia Haart, La Perla Creative Director

ABOUT JULIA HAART’S GOWN: The bordeaux stretch tulle and georgette gown is embellished with hand painted metallic feathers and crystal beadwork. Complete with a hand shredded tulle train and structured shawl collar, the look is an elegant testament to La Perla’s expertise in the world of Haute Couture.

Get Summer Ready without The Latest Fad Diet

The internet is full of celebrity bodies and all we hear is the importance of getting summer ready. It’s enough pressure on women and many of us are trying to find the latest fad diet.

However, if you have tried all the celeb diets and find yourself studying the pages of www.RoxyPlasticSurgery.com we might have a last attempt at looking like Kim Kardashian.

Featured Photo from Instagram

First up let’s talk about your face. Most celebrities have had some work done and use the best natural products.  There are some great new products in the beauty industry which will improve the texture of your skin and make it tighter. Le Creme Beaute has a fantastic mask that is made entirely from organic, natural products, you will also find moisturizer that can help reduce wrinkles. The most important thing you can do to keep your face young and fresh is drink water, hydration and sleep can take years off you.

How about that tight waist and gorgeous bottom. It is no secret that diet and hydration are the keys to a smaller frame, however, to get yourself a body like Kim you need to do specific exercises. You may have seen the Squat challenge on the Internet. Starting at 50 a day you will hit 250 squats and it’s an insane waste of time. For a well-rounded bottom, you need a routine which focuses on using additional weights to your squat/lunge routine to get a booty lift.  There has been a lot of talk about whether Kim had some help.  She denies it, crediting her body to hard work and a lot of squats!

What is most special about Kim is that she has made the most of her body. She may have used enhancements but the rest was based around realistic goals of how she wanted to look and hard work.

PRIYANKA BOSE AT THE 89TH ACADEMY AWARDS ®

Last night at the 89th Academy Awards ® “Lion” actress Priyanka Bose wore a custom-made eco-conscious Vivienne Westwood Couture gown. The gown was accessorized with exclusive pieces from Atelier Swarovski’s first fine jewelry collection and featured Swarovski crystal in the dress detailing. Both gown and jewelry were worn in support of Suzy Amis Cameron’s Red Carpet Green Dress initiative. In 2009, Amis Cameron created Red Carpet Green Dress with the goal of creating awareness for the importance of sustainable practices in fashion. Each year, Red Carpet Green Dress works with international designers to create sustainable evening wear to showcase during the Academy Awards®.

The custom designed gown, is created in a jewel toned silk and lurex floral jacquard fabric, recycled from a past Vivienne Westwood collection. The pattern cutting technique has been designed to keep waste to an absolute minimum, using only 320 cms for the design. Leftover sequin film, usually left as waste from sequin production, is embroidered to the bodice of the dress creating a honeycomb effect, highlighted with reclaimed Swarovski crystals for added sparkle.

Inspired by nature and driven by science, Swarovski brings conscious luxury and innovation to the red carpet with the Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry Collection, handcrafted in a Parisian atelier and featuring Swarovski Created Diamonds and crystals. Swarovski Created Diamonds are grown in a state-of-the-art lab and have the same optical, chemical and physical attributes as mined diamonds.

“It was a dream come true to be able to wear this custom-made Vivienne Westwood gown and the first collection of Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry,” gushed Bose. “I felt like a queen! To be a part of this campaign that helps improve our environment and give back is a powerful thing. I try to live a minimalist lifestyle, but I am constantly learning and Red Carpet Green Dress has taught me that we can all do our part to help.”

Bose joined the rest of the cast for the current six-time nominated film “Lion”. Bose portrays “Kamla Munshi” alongside Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman in the feature film.

To qualify as a Red Carpet Green Dress eco-conscious garment, each piece must either be made from recycled, organic or repurposed materials, use handmade detailing or incorporate natural dye processing – always with a focus on minimal negative impact on the environment, and environmentally and socially responsible design.

For the 2017 Oscars-inspired campaign, Red Carpet Green Dress partnered with Atelier Swarovski and had the support of Earth Friendly Products, maker of ECOS™ Laundry Detergent to help raise funds for MUSE School CA. MUSE School CA is an environmental non-profit educational organization Amis Cameron founded in Calabasas, Calif., with her sister Rebecca Amis. The financial assistance enables students to access a transformative educational experience. MUSE School CA ensures small class size, personalized instruction and learning practices; all set within an inspiring and beautiful campus. Through these key elements, MUSE School CA paves the way in creating leaders of the future. For more information, go to www.museschool.org.

“Red Carpet Green Dress is always researching ways to help improve the planet and the lives of others,” states actress and environmental activist Amis Cameron. “As a culture, we are inundated with messaging of wanting and needing the latest ‘new’ product. But by recycling gowns, we are making the ‘old’ new again and finding the beauty that already exists. It is an important form of sustainability.”

The spaghetti strap couture dress, which originally debuted in Paris in January 2005, is embroidered with cream crystals and waves of small white jet beads featured in a two-tiered skirt. The dramatic plunging bodice is made of jet and black crystal teardrops and is completed with a black satin cummerbund at the waist.

Red Carpet Ready Beauty Secrets

Millions of people enjoy tuning into the many award shows that take place throughout the year on television. They love to see the celebrities make their way down the red carpet, stopping to pose for the cameras and crowds. From the Grammys to the Globes, and now with the anticipation of the Oscars, we’re letting people know the secrets behind being red carpet ready. When it comes down to it, a lot of it all is about being prepared.

“I’m the type of person who is always prepared for any type of red carpet event,” said Gretchen Rossi, “Real Housewives of OC” alum and Creative Director of The Gretchen Christine Collection. “I keep a stash of goodies in my car and in my clutch, so I’m always prepared when doing media events. Savvy Travelers beauty wipes save me time and time again.”

Here are some red carpet beauty secrets that everyone can use:

  • Stay fresh. Opt for staying fresh and clean while on the go by keeping individually wrapped wipes on hand. You, your friend, or your publicist can keep them in their clutch and have them ready. This is a simple way to keep it classy. Savvy Travelers offers a variety of designer wipes that are individually wrapped and convenient.
  • Handle sweat. For that last-minute touch-up before stepping out of the limo and hitting the carpet for interviews, grab a No Sweat wipe and take care of that under-the-boob sweat that some of us are lucky enough to have. Also, keeping designer luxe beauty wipes on hand will help ensure there won’t be any white deodorant flakes on that designer Alexander Wang gown. The No Sweat wipes are also great for media interviews and working the red carpet. Like Manny on the Streetz from “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” who uses a No Sweat wipe on his forehead and no longer had sweat looming under the red carpet lighting when he’s conducting interviews.
  • Kill germs. There is a lot of shaking hands as you walk down the red carpet, so be sure to have Klean Upz to the rescue. The convenient sanitizing wipes will help keep hands clean, moisturized, and will help keep all those germs at bay.
  • Freshen breath. Speaking with a lot of people as you make your way down the red carpet calls for having fresh breath. Don’t worry about that garlic you ate at dinner when you have a Speak Easy wipe handy. They offer a quick and convenient way to have fresh breath anywhere, and at anytime (and no one wants that embarrassing moment of having food in their teeth)!
  • Clean it off. Take Offz wipes will give you a quick and easy way to wash your face without water at the end of a long event. These wipes are a facial cleanser, toner, and moisturizer that removes waterproof and high definition stage makeup. They contain aloe vera, cucumber, vitamin E, chamomile, and botanical extracts.
  • Wipe it down. Everyone has to take some selfies to post on red carpet night. Keep an In The Klear wipe handy that can be used for quickly cleaning the camera lens on your phone. Never miss a chance to get a great selfie. These lint-free wipes are designed for cleaning camera lenses, screens, and glasses.

“By keeping a collection of individually wrapped beauty wipes in your clutch, you are ready for any situation that may come up as you enjoy the red carpet experience,” explains keynote speaker and serial entrepreneur, Tina Aldatz, chief executive officer of Savvy Travelers. “Not only will you look and feel beautiful, but you will smell great, curb the germs, and keep your confidence high.”

Savvy Travelers offers a Beauty Bundle Kit, which offers individually wrapped makeup removing wipes, mouth cleaning wipes, and antiperspirant wipes. Users can sign up for a bundle subscription kit that offers a three-month supply of wipes.
