Nordstrom Beauty Trends Show | Bethesda Maryland

You’re invited to join your Nordstrom as it will once again kick off the bi-annual Beauty Trend Shows, which highlights the latest and greatest beauty trends, tips and products for Fall! This high-energy runway show takes place in select Nordstrom stores nation-wide, where customers can view the hottest beauty trends from top brands including MAC, Bobbi Brown, Clarisonic and more! Following the show, there will be complimentary beauty consultations (by appointment).

There will also be free samples, countless giveaways and raffles, so get there early and experience your beauty with Nordstrom!

How Nordstrom’s Beauty Trend Show Works:
· Appointment based event hosted by Nordstrom’s Regional and/or National Beauty Director

Beauty Bash (7am-7:45am)
· Takes place in the mall or in store, where a live DJ performs before, during and after the show
· Hosted by Regional Manager or Nordstrom Beauty Stylists
· Free samples are available, so make sure to get there early!
· Artistry stations set up for demonstrations

Runway Show (8 am)
· Models showcase beauty looks & product
· 15-18 brands will be featured through either speakers or video
· Countless giveaways and raffles

Post Show Activities
· Meet with brands one on one for beauty consultations, appointments, free samples and exclusive Gifts with Purchase
· With $125 fragrance purchase, customers receive a separate companion bag

Event Recap: Fashion Awards MD 2013

Photos from this year’s Fashion Awards MD event are posted below.  I was super excited to be a nominee, especially since this blog has only been active for one year (hooray!)  In addition, every nominee in the media category was very talented, so for me (personally) it was truly about the experience and being amongst those who share the same “love” which is fashion, art, and style.

The event production was also nice from nominees standing on the red carpet, to guest enjoying refreshments, and the opportunity to network with industry professionals.  Lastly, to give this event the fashion flair that it deserved Lana Rae (the event founder and owner of the KIS Agency) was able to have Lianca and Johnny from Kimora: House of Fab serve as the awards show host.

Trend Alert: The Evolution of the Pencil Skirt Summer 2013 by Contributing Author Janita Smith

Many of us are excited about summer and can not wait to pull out our lace shorts and maxi dress!  But what I am seeing this season is the evolution of the pencil skirt; making its mark in the office but social scene as well.

There are several ways that fashion girls are wearing pencil skirts; making this trend “sassy” but yet classy.

As a freelance stylist, I love the fact that this look (below) has transformed the everyday woman (who’s on the go) to the lady who wants to “own her style” by adding a little edge. And personally, I like to wear my pencil skirt with a graphic tee and pumps!

Ultimately, there are several options for how women can wear a pencil skirt.  Tell me, how do you like to wear your pencil skirt?

Hat Inspiration and The Great Gatsby Movie

Hello Ladies,

I have been curious about the timeless women’s hat that is worn in The Great Gasby movie. In case you too were wondering, I wanted to let you know the one I favor is called a “Cloche Bucket Bell” hat.

This blog post features a picture of me wearing one a while back that I purchased at Nordstrom inside of The Mall in Columbia. I like these hats because they can be worn casually (as in my picture) or you can dress them up and wear out with evening attire!

Men’s Designer Socks and Shoe Game Spring 2013

A careful and creative selection of Men’s Socks and Shoes will be the leading Men’s fashion trends for Spring 2013.

Here (in this photo) is a stylish combination that I selected at Nordstrom Columbia Mall (Maryland). The shoes are designed by Ferragamo and the socks are from the Polo Ralph Lauren retailer.

Wearing creative and colorful socks along with colored shoe laces will be the biggest Men’s fashion trend for Spring and Summer 2013. We told you.
