Michael Owen teams up with lululemon athletica Harbor East for The Baltimore Love Project Capsule Collection, a limited edition of 500 lululemon garments adorned with Owen’s Baltimore-inspired designs.

Designed exclusively for lululemon Harbor East, each women’s What The Sport Tank and Men’s 5 Factor Short Sleeve will feature the commissioned street artist’s unique take on the yoga brand’s technical athletic apparel with an effort to spread the message of LOVE to the city of Baltimore.

—On Thursday, July 16^th, from 7:00PM– 9:00PM, lululemon athletica Harbor East will launch The Baltimore Love Project Capsule Collection at Barcocina, 1629 Thames St, Baltimore, MD 21231. The event will feature a VIP shopping reception. 40 % of the proceeds will go towards the next installment of Michael Owen’s LOVE murals in West Baltimore.

“I’m excited to partner with lululemon athletica and focus energy towards bringing Baltimore together especially considering all that our city has been through recently,” says Owen. “This new collaboration is a response to the unrest through-out Baltimore. The garments reference the LOVE pattern sprayed on boarded windows during the riots, while the mural will act as a permanent memorial.”

The Baltimore Love Project Capsule Collection for lululemon athletica will be available for sale in store only at lululemon athletica Harbor East, 820 Aliceanna St, Baltimore, MD 21202 (410) 528-5485, beginning Thursday, July 16th. This collection is limited to 500 garments available exclusively at this lululemon location. In addition, they will also be featured at Grateful Phlow, a jam band inspired yoga flow event happening Saturday, July 18^th from 6pm–10pm at Union Craft Brewing, 1700 Union Ave, Baltimore, MD 21211.

The Baltimore Love Project expresses love by connecting people and communities across Baltimore City through love themed murals. Michael Owen is the creator and lead artist of the Baltimore Love Project. After living in Seattle, Cleveland and Orlando, Michael moved to Baltimore to attend Maryland Institute College of Art. Since receiving his BFA in 2004, Michael has been painting all around the United States, utilizing galleries as well as the streets, including one of the world’s longest murals at 1/4 mile in length. Christopher Schafer Clothier Interview with Style + Life + Fashion

Style + Life + Fashion interviewed Seth Schafer from Christopher Schafer Clothier located in Baltimore, Maryland. Seth joined the business in 2013, leaving his own mark on the fashion industry.

He has been featured in the Baltimore Business Journal as well helping the team to win RAW Awards Baltimore’s Best Fashion Designers 2013.

What inspired you to become a menswear designer?

My father was the biggest inspiration. He opened my eyes to the industry and really took me under his wing. Since working with him I have developed my own style in how I design clothing.

In your opinion, what makes your studio and collection unique from any other brand?

Our studio is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. My father and I are both musicians and we have a full stage setup in our studio. We enjoy playing music after a long day. He is a drummer and I’m a bassist. We have a different ambiance compared to most places. We are located on 1400 Aliceanna Street in a two hundred year old warehouse. The juxtaposition of a vintage building with modern luxury suits really works for us. We are really active in the community as well. We recycle gently used suits and give them to gentleman who have been recently released from prison. The goal is to dress them accordingly to give them a better chance at landing a career. What are some of your greatest accomplishments as a designer?

I was named Baltimore’s Best Tailor by the City Paper in 2014. I also was awarded 40 Under 40 award from the Baltimore Business Journal.

What’s your favorite accessory from the collection?

We just finished up a ton of new ties that are made from vintage silk. They all are beautiful but one particular paisley tie has been my favorite!

Honestly, how many suits do you own?

I have all the staple suits of a wardrobe. The navy solid, grey solid, charcoal herringbone are essentials in anyone’s wardrobe. I have about 15 suits. I recycle my older suits and give them to our Sharp Dress Man program. I would have a much bigger wardrobe if I kept all of my suits, but the enjoyment of telling a gentleman that the suit I’m giving them was mine personally is an awesome feeling.

Do you have any advice for anyone that’s interested in becoming a menswear or fashion designer?

I would recommend spending as much time as you can meeting people in your industry. They can help refer business and teach you things about the business. I personally think it makes you a better designer if you can help recommend other people for your clients needs.

What’s in the future for Christopher Schafer Clothier?

Right now we are rapidly growing here in Baltimore. The vision is to have a shop in Los Angeles and London.

PANDORA Store Re-Opening – Art of You Campaign

On Saturday, June 20, 2015 I was invited to take part in the grand re-opening event for PANDORA Towson Town Center. The event revealed their new store design which complimented the campaign, “Art of You.”

PANDORA’s “Art of You” campaign invites consumers to embrace the self-creator within and tell their unique life story. I was excited to attend the event because I am collector of PANDORA bracelets and charms. My bracelet (s) allow me to wear those memories daily. I also like the quality of their jewelry ranging from silver, gold, and diamond.

The event was also very informative. I received a store tour, viewed jewelry, and learned more about the company’s overall philsophy. Store associate (whose name was also Kim) shared their most popular ring this season due to Selena Gomez’s tweet:

I could not visit the PANDORA store without making a purchase for myself. I decided upon the Faith, Hope, and Love charm to compliment my silver bracelet. This particular charm’s symbolic to my life; Faith and Hope for all things possible while continuing to walk in a state of Love!
