NYE 2012 Recap: New York, Washington DC, and Baltimore

NYE is a time to celebrate “new” beginnings with family and friends! This is also a significant holiday because we create resolutions that will inspire us for the upcoming year.

Although 2012 was dynamic year, I think it’s universal to say that we’re (all) striving towards individual change, personal growth, and a closer spiritual connection for the 2013 year.

Check out our New Year’s Eve {2012} Recap from Style Life Fashion.com

NEW YEAR’S EVE 2012

From New York, Washington DC, and Baltimore the socialites were out having a good time.  Cheers (raise your champagne flute) to the New Year!

Tyrice Johnson from The Belvedere Agency in New York

Celebrating in the New York: New year, new trend! Among the number of new trends this new year in the Big Apple, many New Yorkers and celebs, opted to attend small intimate house parties rather than foot the bill for a lavish night out. Low-key parties were attended by socialites and trendsetters throughout the city. Despite the smaller venues attended this New Year’s Eve, fashion was in full swing! Tuxedo jackets adorned or paired with heavy jewelry was a consistent trend.

Barbara Choice from Choice Management, LLC in Washington DC

Celebrating in Washington DC: I celebrated New Year’s Eve in DC at Alero’s Restaurant and Bar Nine. I purchased my dress and coat from H&M and wore Zara Shoes. My New Year’s Resolution is continue to work on me in becoming a better person!

Celebrating in Baltimore: We partied at Select Lounge in Baltimore, Maryland. One of my New Years resolutions is to get closer to God.

Kimmie West from Style Life Fashion.com in Baltimore, Maryland

Celebrating in Baltimore: We celebrated at the Pisces Lounge, at the Hyatt Place Baltimore (where we also made a reservation for the evening.) I wore a black lace dress purchased from H&M along with black, leather knee boots (from Guess.) I also carried a black fur coat, just in case we stepped outside for the fireworks. The ADIDAS snapback cap was a gift to my hubby, who thought “this” would make a “fly” picture! {wink}

The Red Brunch at Tabaq Bistro: Networking Event

On Sunday, December 16, 2012 I attended “The Red Room” Brunch located at Tabaq Bistro in Washington D.C.  The purpose of  the event was for individuals in the Baltimore/Washington area to network, collaborate, and share ideas.  In addition, the new brunch series supported Carl Johnson and Silva Lining with their “Drive 2 Provide” Toy Drive.

During the brunch, Candice Nicole and Tommie Collins also raffled several gifts such as concert tickets, event tickets, beverages, art work, etc.   The brunch menu included a variety of breakfast foods ranging from mimosas, blood marys, omelets, pancakes, steak, eggs, and fruit.

There’s nothing like pancakes, fruit, and mimosas!

About Della Ricca Hair Color

After recognizing the need for a high quality at-home hair coloring system, Karen Anne Vinson founded Della Ricca Hair Color in April 2011. With more than 25 years of experience, and as the first Texan and now one of only 10 Board Certified Master Haircolorists in the Houston area, Vinson has the capability and expertise to bring clients salon quality color right to their doorsteps.

For less than half the price of a salon visit, Della Ricca Hair Color is quick and easy to apply at home, making it perfect for those who want consistent color while traveling, don’t have time to visit a salon, or simply want a higher quality at-home hair coloring system.

With over 500 styles of box color available, coloring hair at home can prove to be extremely overwhelming, not to mention risky. Della Ricca eliminates these risks by arranging clients with a free consultation with a “color concierge”, in person or via Skype, to discuss their color needs. These Board Certified Master Haircolorists will then create a custom-blended color formula based on a wide range of criteria, including eye color, skin tone, hair texture, thickness, hair styling and coloring history.

Within 10 days of the consultation, clients will receive their custom color kit in the mail, which includes the customized color, a developer and personalized instructions written specifically for the client’s hair.

Instant Style, Life, and Fashion on Instagram

Instagram, Instagram, Instagram! We are all obsessed with pictures and there’s no better (quick and easy) photo editing software other than Instagram.  Although in the blogging world, it’s not considered “true” photography, in my opinion it’s a great way to showcase your style, life, and fashion.

With that being said, I have also fallen victim to loving the (quick) use of Instagram software.  Honestly, this happened as a surprise because I am busy managing other social networking sites and thought to myself, “there’s no way I could possibly manage another site.”

But contrary to my thoughts, I am posting on Instagram and love the fun that I’m having on there.  So my suggestion is to tap your inner photography skills, use a little creativity, and start posting on Instagram.

Macy’s Pretty and Pink Powerful Products to Fight Breast Cancer

Shop the cause at select Macy’s and macys.com with “Pretty and Powerful Pink” Products to aid in the FIGHT against breast cancer!

NEW YORK, NY – October 2, 2012 – This October, Macy’s has once again partnered with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF) to draw attention, heighten awareness and raise funds in the fight against breast cancer. Throughout the month of October, women, survivors and others also affected by breast cancer will have a chance to acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness month, and look good while doing good with commemorative pink products, including fashion, cosmetics and home merchandise.

“Macy’s has a long-standing commitment to giving back and supporting causes that are important to the communities we live in,” said Martine Reardon, chief marketing officer for Macy’s. “Our more than 10 year partnership with BCRF demonstrates our ability to make magic by working effectively with our vendors, employees and customers to get involved and fight for a cure. We know that the small part we play in such a monumental cause will make a difference and help to save lives by funding research to end breast cancer forever.”

When looking for ways to support the cause, shop America’s department store for pink product from beloved designers and brands. Throughout October, Macy’s will host a dedicated space in 350 stores across the country and online at macys.com/pink, aptly named the “Pink Shop,” featuring a variety of items that give back to causes devoted to awareness, education and research in the fight against breast cancer, including trench coats from Pink Envelope and pink-hued skinny denim from Celebrity Pink. Another way to think pink is with an eye-catching leopard print lace top from INC International Concepts. Retailing for $59.50, 5 percent of the purchase price will go directly to BCRF. Check out Macy’s “Pink Shop” in store or online to select from a variety of items in fashion, beauty and home that all give the opportunity to make a contribution in the fight against breast cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, more than 200,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer (Stages I-IV) are diagnosed among women in the United States in a year, resulting in approximately 40,000 deaths. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer. Through various partnerships and joint efforts, Macy’s maintains a steadfast dedication to finding a cure. This year’s program is targeted to reaching customers in every aspect of their lives.

“The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is privileged to have Macy’s and its loyal customers join us in our fight against breast cancer,” said Myra J. Biblowit, President of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. “The Breast Cancer Research Foundation provides critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research. We believe that research saves lives. Year after year Macy’s brings national attention to our cause and continues to be a strong ally for so many women who have unfortunately been affected by this disease.”

Visit Macy’s or macys.com/pink during the month of October to check out what’s pretty in pink to support the cause.
