NBA Star Cade Cunningham Hosts Exclusive Balmain Fashion Week Reception

On September 15, 2025, Fashion Week in New York gained a bold new highlight as NBA star Cade Cunningham partnered with MBG360, founded by Tiffany James, to host an exclusive cocktail reception at the Balmain New York flagship. The event placed athletes at the center of the global fashion conversation, cementing the role of sport as one of today’s most powerful cultural forces.  Cunningham, known for his sharp sense of style and influence beyond the court, welcomed an elite crowd of fashion insiders, athletes, and cultural leaders. Guests included WNBA stars Rickea Jackson and Te’a Cooper, further underscoring the growing intersection of women’s sports, luxury fashion, and cultural influence.

“This wasn’t just a party—it was a statement,” said Tiffany James, Founder of MBG360. “I started in fashion, and I’ve always seen how deeply it’s tied to culture. Today, athletes are not only icons on the court but also leaders shaping trends, business, and influence worldwide. Fashion needs culture, culture thrives through sport, and athletes are at the center of it all.”

The collaboration spotlighted a larger movement: athletes as modern tastemakers redefining luxury and celebrity. With Cunningham as host, Balmain became the stage for a conversation bigger than Fashion Week—where high fashion, cultural identity, and athletic excellence intersect.

IMG_2333

Handcrafted fashion is as relevant today as it was when the American Craft Council (ACC) began its shows in the 1970s. This year, in an effort to highlight ACC’s talented network of fashion wearables, accessories and jewelry artists, ACC is partnering with regional stylists for its newest exhibition, Style Slam.

Four regional stylists will participate in Style Slam at the American Craft Council Show in Baltimore, which is being held at the Baltimore Convention Center, February 19-21, 2016. Each stylist will work with ACC’s network of artists at the Show to demonstrate how handcrafted statement pieces are the perfect fit for any fashion-conscious wardrobe.

On Friday, February 19, the stylists will be scouting the show floor looking for those fabulous fashion finds they’ll use to visually articulate their signature styles in person, on mannequins and model and online throughout the show. On Saturday, February 20, the stylists will be offering show attendees fashion tips, doing member makeovers and collaborating with participating interior designers from the Make Room: Modern Design Meets Craft exhibition on commentary related to the intersection of fashion and design. Throughout the Show, stylists will be available at the Style Slam booth to discuss how attendees can incorporate craft pieces into their own wardrobe to complement and accentuate their style.

Stylists participating in Style Slam are:

Fashion’s Night Out 2012 hosted by Baltimore Fashion Alliance

The Baltimore Fashion Alliance is an organization that brings together individuals working in the fashion industry.  This year, along with several volunteers and vendors, they served as the primary (local) host for Fashion’s Night Out 2012.  During the event, guests were given the opportunity to shop with vendors, view the latest designs, and network with fashion professionals.

One of the highlights of this year’s event, was the “Be Ahead of the Tr3ND” Fashion Show” hosted by BFA and Mosaic Night Club and Lounge.  This year’s fashion show included garments from local Baltimore Boutiques such as The Cupcake Boutique, Babe, South Moon Under along with access to the After Party at Mosaic Lounge.  Overall, this was a great event for the Baltimore Fashion community and we look forward to next year’s participation!
