Iris Apfel x INC at Macy’s – Launching September 2016

I.N.C International Concepts, available exclusively at Macy’s, has announced a partnership with style icon Iris Apfel launching September 2016. For the aptly named “Iris Meets INC” campaign, INC teamed up with Apfel to develop a collection of “must-have” clothing and jewelry centered around this fall’s mod trend. Apfel will also star in a creative advertising campaign for the brand, which will break in early August.

Iris 2

As an anchor to the campaign, I.N.C will launch a limited edition keyboard of Iris-themed emojis this fall. The emoji graphics will appear throughout all elements of the “Iris Meets I.N.C” campaign, including product hangtags, digital advertising and direct mail.

The collection itself is comprised of approximately 40 pieces that play into fall’s “mod” trend revival. Apfel consulted with I.N.C’s design team and provided creative direction before curating her final selection of items which were chosen for both style and versatility. The collection focuses on key wardrobe staples like shift dresses, A-line skirts, flare leg pants, and statement jackets. In keeping with her signature style, Apfel also included a wide array of black and white bangles in various patterns and sizes.

“Macy’s was my very first department store and we used to always go there on shopping trips,” said Apfel. “I’ve always thought very kindly of Macy’s and I never planned on any of this. How many 94-year-old cover girls do you know?”

Nancy Slavin, senior vice president, marketing, of Macy’s Merchandising Group said “Iris is a perfect partner for I.N.C. Not only does her style resonate with multiple generations of I.N.C shoppers, but there isn’t a more iconic personality to show off the new ‘mod’ style for fall.”

The Iris Meets I.N.C collection will be available exclusively at Macy’s stores and on macys.com starting early September 2016.

Talk of Alabama Lifestyle Segment – Safe Decorating for Kids Rooms

I was invited to host a lifestyle segment on ABC 33/40, Talk of Alabama and share safety tips for kids rooms. The segment was a lot of fun because I truly enjoy discussing new products with a local audience!

CLICK HERE TO WATCH:  TALK OF ALABAMA

The main focus was to bring safety awareness of products for kids rooms.  Parents must ask are home decor items functional and eliminate hazards for little ones?

As a mom, I love to decorate my kids room (especially in character themes) but there’s also consideration for electric plugs, heat consumption, contained storage bins, and comfortable sleep.

The products shown below are beneficial and can be successful in everyone’s home:

 1.  Blindsgalore (BG Kids Brand) Shade – recommends completely cordless blinds or shades when children in the home.  The company offers hundred of independently certified child safe blinds and shades.

2.  Kidzooz Pillow – Designed by a chiropractor, parent and grandparent, this is more than just a stuffed animal or pillow but a product that combines the two while encouraging good sleep habits.

3.  BPA Free Storage and Organizers

  • Available in three colors – grey, pink and blue
  • Includes three pieces – a caddy, bucket and tote
  • The storage items are BPA Free and made of a durable canvas exterior.

4.  Interactive Finding Dory Wall Friend –  The interactive light-up, talking Wall Friend from uncle Milton toys is a perfect addition to a child’s bedroom.

Fashion Tips with Dryel At-Home Dry Cleaner

Dry cleaning your wardrobe can be costly!  We love to wear cashmere sweaters, wool coats, and boucle’ slacks but the care for such garments are expensive.  One can purchase these items on sale but must calculate the price of dry cleaning in their shopping budget.

As a Style Expert, I always share that fashion girls (and guys) must properly care for their clothing to maintain a stylish wardrobe.  It’s more than dressing fabulous and owning several pieces.  In this day and time, we have to take our budget into consideration and be realistic about our clothing expenses.

Hanging out with the clothing rack

Truthfully, I also like to mix and match my own clothing.  It’s a personal preference for several good reasons. Number one, I am obsessed with closet organization. Number two, I like to come up with various ways that I can style one item. Number three, I’m a mom and my shopping list consists of additional household products.

I was excited to be selected as a Brand Ambassador for Dryel At-Home Dry-Cleaner. Over the course of the year, I will share product reviews and cleaning tips! As a reader, you will also have the opportunity to follow my journey via Twitter Chats, Pinterest Boards, and so much more.  Let’s get ready to learn more about the special care of our clothing with the help of Dryel.

Michael Kors Faux Wrap Dress – Classic Style

Last week I shared my personal shopping experience at Macys in Annapolis Mall. Let me start by saying, everyone should explore this service!  It’s easy to book and makes your shopping experience a little more pleasant.  After chit chatting with Teresa and discussing upcoming fall trends (I’m still thinking about those pumps) I entered into the dressing room with several delightful items.  She selected a range of garments to suit my lifestyle from jeans, handbags, sunglasses, skirts, and suits.

The one item that captured my heart was a gorgeous wrap dress designed from The MICHAEL, Michael Kors Collection.  I didn’t select the dress because of the brand; but the style was more important.  This High and Low, Faux Wrap Dress complimented my figure and curves.  One thing I’ve shared on this site is that I’m petite and curvy (like the other Kim West) so I’m very meticulous about my style needs.

IMG_5974

The fabric texture also felt great on my skin and silhouette’s classy (and sexy.)  Ultimately, I was very pleased with the garment.  I also have the perfect pair of pumps to wear with this dress for definition, height, and movement.

In addition to selecting the dress, I also picked up a pair of rose gold earrings and skin care products from the Lancome counter. Overall, it was a great day to be a girl and play around in fashion!
