Violesia Tull, from Fashionably Chic Tours hosted a beauty event titled, “Make Me Over Social.” The event took place at Saks Fifth Avenue located in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
During the event participants had the opportunity to receive make overs from Dior Cosmetics, indulge in spa facials, and enjoy lite hors d’ oeuvres.
In addition, National Makeup Artist Jelena Marjanovie was present for the event while showing participants makeup techniques and new colors from the Dior brand.
This was a lovely event and of course I enjoyed visiting Saks Fifth Avenue. Violesia was a great host and I look forward to attending the next event by Fashionably Chic Tours.

Polka dots have become my latest fashion obsession. There’s something about combining this pattern with a bold color or dainty accessory that makes it a great fashion look.
And polka dots (in today’s design) can be seen in a variety of hues and textures. This pattern basically goes with anything!
To my surprise, I was able to find a “delectable” pair of polka dot jeans (with a zipper on the side.) I instantly gravitated towards these jeans because I have never seen a pair (of jeans) in this pattern and of course they were a great price.
At that time, I wasn’t quit sure how I would wear the jeans but I knew they were a good purchase. Luckily, after brining them home I discovered several options for my new polka dots jeans.
For me, the most important point to remember about polka dots is that this pattern can refresh any wardrobe and be worn year round. Whether a summer blouse, cashmere sweater, or fitted blazer, polka dots are a fashion must have.

Rihanna’s collaboration with MAC Cosmetics has taken the beauty world by storm!
The online site, Kiss and MakeUp stated, “As part of her first collection MAC will release RiRi Woo, a blue-red and retro matte lipstick inspired by the classic Ruby Woo (Rihanna’s favourite lipstick), the signature piece of the collab which will feature in all four collections. The release of RiRi Woo will coincide with Rihanna’s Diamonds Tour concerts on the 4th May at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where MAC will open a pop-up shop.”

Celebrities looked stunning at The Sag Awards 2013 but what about their manicures? As a “normal” fashionista, it’s always interesting to see what beauty tricks celebrities are wearing because they work with the best hairstylist, manicurist, and make up artist. Ultimately, celebs start and set the trends!

Jason Wu has done it again by designing a ravishing, red gown for Michelle Obama! The fabric used for this gown is velvet and chiffon, where the first lady’s dress has a halter top, fitted waist, and flowing skirt.
To pull this look together, she’s also wearing a pair of red pumps from the shoe designer Jimmy Choo. It is safe to say that Jason Wu has the right touch when dressing the first lady and it’s shown by his design tonight!

When the photo of Michelle Obama wearing bangs surfaced, my heart skipped a beat! I loved seeing her wear bangs because this style is youthful, fun, and very “mode.” The hair style also demonstrates that she’s not afraid of versatility and change.

Of course everyone was waiting on me to leave for the fair grounds (smile.) Who would’ve ever thought (on that day) I would see the first lady with a similar style on her birthday!

Inauguration 2013 fashionable deets have already started and the first lady will not let us down. Last night, Michelle Obama attended an inauguration reception at The National Building Museum and was seen wearing a lovely black, sequin cocktail dress. Michael Kors is the designer of the dress, where Michelle was able to make the look her own with a new sophisticated hair cut and a variety of bracelets.
This is only the beginning of what the first lady will have in store for us on Inauguration Day 2013 and Style Life Fashion.com will be blogging, alert and watching! Stay Tuned!
