Beyonce and Designer Laurel DeWitt Crown – Hymn For The Weekend

Designer Laurel DeWitt, known for one of a kind metal apparel and regal crowns and headdresses, is excited to give you the behind the scene details on Beyonce’s crown in the new Coldplay video, “Hymn For The Weekend.” Styled by Zerina Akers, Beyonce dons a hand sculpted Laurel DeWitt crown highlighted with metal flowers, entirely hand-cut, hand-rolled, and hand-painted to create a stunning display of incredibly meticulous metal work.

The crown is specially made of lightweight metals for Beyonce. The crown took nearly a month to conceptualize and create. The handwoven metal structure serves as a the foundation and is reflective of the designers sculptural aesthetic. The focal point, the metal flowers, showcase the Spring/Summer 16 transition into colors and metal floral applications. This serves as Beyonce’s debut in Laurel DeWitt.

Ms. DeWitt, inspired by global regalia, is self-taught in the craft of metal mastery. With fashion at top of mind – wearable, elegant clothing with metal at its core – this upcoming season will not be one to miss.

1. Start with clean towel dried hair. First apply KMS California TAMEFRIZZ smoothing lotion (18.99) from root to tip and comb through for even distribution.

2. Next, spray KMS California ADDVOLUME volumizing spray (18.99) at the roots to create big voluminous hair.

3. Give a light mist of KMS California FREESHAPE quick blow dry spray (21.99) to reduce drying time and get a smooth fly-away free result to your blow dry.

4. Next, section the hair for blow drying. Using a medium round brush, drying with an up and around movement to get full volume.

5. Using a 1-inch curling iron, take 1-inch sections of hair and curl the hair all back and away from the face. Take a velcro roller and set each curl after you curl only using medium to small curlers. Allow rollers to set and cool. After, 15-20 minutes remove curlers.

6. To finish, brush the hair out with a sable bristle brush. Use KMS California HAIRPLAY playable texture ($20.50) to spray waves and curls in place but still maintain a soft bouncy look.

Kendall Jenner Top Knot: Get the Look

Kendall Jenner rocked a chic top knot with an edgy flair of side swept bangs on the red carpet last night for the American Music Awards. Celebrity hairstylist, Etienne Ortega, created this sleek top knot look with the help of KMS California products. “My inspiration for Kendall’s look was a funky modern top knot with a wispy bang, that goes perfect with her high neck dress!” Here’s the scoop from Ortega on how to get Kendall’s red carpet look:

Step 1: Ortega used KMS California ADD VOLUME styling foam ($17.50) while the hair was damp and roughly blow dried her hair.

Step 2: Ortega used the KMS California HAIR PLAY messing cream ($20), putting a quarter size amount in his palms and worked it all throughout the hair to start creating a build up of texture.

Step 3: Then Ortega put her hair up into a pony, followed by twisting the hair into a fun top knot.

Step 4: To finish the look he used the KMS California HAIR PLAY playable texture ($20) to make her bangs textured, piecey and ready to hit the red carpet.
