Wes Moore Hosts Inaugural Champions of #THEWORK Celebration

This past Saturday, over 350 people – including Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Congressman John Delaney – turned out to support New York Times Best Selling Author Wes Moore at his inaugural Champions of #THEWORK Celebration. Moore and PHILANTHROPIK co-hosted the event at the Four Seasons Baltimore to honor seven individuals for their significant contributions and dedication to their local communities. Just last month, Moore released his second read, The Work, which quickly climbed the ranks of the New York Times’ Best-Seller list.

Moore addressed the crowd in the name of #THEWORK, delivering powerful remarks regarding the importance of finding one’s passion in life through self-discovery, service and risk-taking.

“We want to rejoice the individuals who are using their passions as a vehicle to address the world’s greatest needs, and share their experiences for the chance to inspire others to do the work of their lives.”

The red carpet affair – presented by Prudential – featured CÎROC signature cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres. World-renowned harmonica player Frederic Yonnet serenaded guests with a live performance of classic tunes mixed with modern day hits.

Baltimore’s Harbor East Hosts 4th Annual FashionEasta Show

BALTIMORE, MD (February 18, 2015) – Harbor East invites you to preview the next wave of chic at the Fourth Annual FashionEASTa: The Fashion Show! On Saturday, April 25 Baltimore’s hottest shopping destination takes center stage and highlights the fashions of some of its most notable retailers. This year’s ASCAP Grammy Brunch proved to be a good time for all and 20th Century Fox’s KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE set up a special KINGSMAN Photo Parlor to capture all the excitement at the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills yesterday. The KINGSMAN Photo Parlor gave guests the chance to snap some fun photos with special props that were both gentlemen-worthy and necessities for every top spy like Colin Firth and Michael Caine who save the world from SAMUEL L. JACKSON in KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE.

Homemade Soup and Recipe – Lifestyle Tip

I like to make homemade soup for my family during the winter months. It’s a fairly easy recipe and can be a hearty meal. As new generation women, we’re busy and need simple ideas to make our lives easier; one option is to make soup.

Eating soup can be a healthy meal substitute from our normal grilled caesar salad. Simply cook the recipe, store in ziplock bags, and put in the freezer. Also, depending on the amount that’s left over, one can store soup (in the freezer) for family sick days.

There’s two easy steps I like to incorporate that’s less time consuming when cooking the recipe. Number one, use a soup starter mix and number two, take pre cooked chicken breast (from last night’s dinner) and shred for your recipe. If you want to get “fancy” add vegetables to the recipe as well.

After you’re done don’t forget to serve in your soups mugs (I found a set at the thrift shop) with crackers or make a batch of crescent rolls on the side. You can sit back and watch your favorite reality show because dinner’s done!
