My Review:
I have been a fan of Teen Vogue for several years. The magazine provides the latest in fashion, celebrity style, and entertainment. The Teen Vogue Handbook is the perfect extension of the brand because it gives an insiders guide to careers in fashion. I suggest this book for up and coming fashion professionals as well as those working in the industry.
The handbook is divided into content chapters according to careers such as Designers, Editors, Digital, Stylist, Models, Beauty, and Photographers. Of course I turned to the Digital chapter first, which features media moguls such as Leandra Medine, Natalie Massenet, Michelle Phan, Sophia Amoruso, and Robin Givhan to name a few.
In addition, The Teen Vogue Handbook shares how to start a career in fashion and the daily responsiblities associated with each job. For example, designer Jenna Lyons shares “one day is never the same as the next; there are so many pieces and parts. Most of the time, I go from one meeting to the next and don’t really get a break in between ” (Astley, 41.)

The handbook ends with the Career chapter giving tips on how to apply for internships, create a resume, social networking, and dressing to impress. The Teen Vogue Handbook is a must read for the fashion intern or brand account manager. Fashion is constantly changing and one must stay abreast of the latest trends (beyond accessories and style.) Anna Wintour stated, “people have to go to school, learn their craft, and build a brand – that’s the right, healthy way to do things. I am super excited to share this photo from my natural hair journey. Last Spring, Motions Hair Care Productsshipped a variety of products to my doorstep for a blogger promotion. During that time, I was suffering from hair breakage and wore several protective styles. In between wearing protective styles, I maintained my tresses with conditioners, trims, and hot steaming.
Anyone who’s a naturalista will confess that you anticipate your hair growing after the big chop. To others, the big chop can be dramatic but I wanted to start with a fresh mane of hair.
In this photo, I am wearing one of my favorite hairstyles (the twist out) which is a simple style that locks in moisture. I also like to wear a variety of hair accessories and deep conditioning treatments in the winter months.

There’s something to be said when you dare to be different. Today, Solange Knowles marriedher long time sweetheart Alan Ferguson. Based upon the photos below, she chose a modern, minimalistic style which has inspired “creative spirits” everywhere.

UCB trained comedian Kymmi Tea, was on hand to give the crowd a few laughs and did not disappoint. The established PR firm MNS Media worked the media on hand and facilitated the flow of crowd and interviews throughout the evening.
Bianca Williams spoke to the crowd on hand about beginning her career as a entrepreneur with plus-size ensembles, and the feeling of being featured in the national publication Hip Hop Weekly (3x), Swagher Magazine and Full Blossom Magazine as one to watch. Bianca mentioned, she recently evolved into eyelashes to bring out the natural ocular beauty of the wearer in a product that is comfortable, even with extended wear. “I wanted to preserve that natural look,” says the designer, “while keeping it comfortable all day long.”
Bianca Williams recently released her Curvy Bride Collection, at her own Nuptials on September 27th, 2014. The designer plans to continue to promote the B. Pretty Clothing brand, while also releasing a new line of Siberian Mink Lashes, in the near future. Building her brand and throwing Lash parties all across the East Coast, is the next level for this designer who has been spotted with the likes of comedienne, actress, author and talk show host Whoopi Goldberg, CEO of multi-media entertainment company Monami Mona Scott Young, Bravo’s Fashion Queens star Derek J, VH1’s Love & Hip Hop star Tahiry Jose, VH1’s Mob Wives Ramona Rizzo, Hip Hop Legend Roxanne Shante and more. Lately, I’ve been pretty obsessed with adding Kale to my diet. This is a super food that has several health benefits such as added protein, iron, and other delicious vitamins and minerals. According to medical news, it also helps with preventative measures against cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
For me, it’s a delicious addition to my diet and I love finding new recipes for eating Kale. To my surprise I found a recipe (below) that I wanted to share with other Kale lovers. It’s simple, easy, and can be eaten during lunch or as a low calorie dinner. This Kale Salad is not only a quick fix (which is a major plus) but looks delicious!
