Tiffany & Co. Atlas Jewelry Collection

Tiffany & Co.’s new Atlas collection is now available in store this fall.  Marked by classical Roman numerals, the Atlas jewelry collection is styled in bangles and narrow bracelets, bold band rings, earrings, necklaces and a great open medallion.

A certain design aesthetic evolved with the uniquely American spirit of adventure and innovation. It is a truly individual style that thrives on a bold approach to established patterns and traditions. This potent and original expression is beautifully represented by Tiffany’s Atlas collection, inspired by ancient symbols fashioned in jewelry that is eternally modern.

Introduced in 1995, the collection is named after the Greek god who held aloft an enormous globe—an apt symbol for a collection known worldwide—and features bold Roman numerals, the measure of a great civilization in which time reigned supreme. Tiffany shapes these ageless artifacts in clean, elegant strokes emblematic of American design. “The Roman numerals are ancient symbols known in every country,” says Tiffany’s executive vice president Jon King, “but we have transformed them into something sleek and contemporary.”

For all its classical origins, Atlas® exudes a refined strength that resonates with today’s woman. She is drawn to the iconic design that is recognizably Tiffany from Moscow to Madrid. Different iterations grace hinged bangles, a slim ring and a striking pendant in white gold and diamonds—each one the sort of signature piece that, worn every day, reflects a woman’s personal style.

The motif first inspired a watch, created by John Loring, Tiffany’s design director emeritus. Introduced in 1983, the watch displays an hour track of clean-lined and brightly polished Roman numeral markers in high relief. For its originality, the Atlas® watch was granted a rare U.S. patent. Of his many Tiffany designs, Loring says this is his favorite because “it’s had such staying power and translated so brilliantly into jewelry that is a true statement of fashion.”

The Atlas® collection transposes the elongated numerals of the watch archetype onto a range of necklaces, pendants, bracelets, rings and earrings that share a kindred simplicity of form, composition. Grooved borders, bar links and alternating matte and polished surfaces in 18 karat yellow, white and rose gold, as well as sterling silver, create a streamlined glamour that remains remarkably fresh. Some of the pieces incorporate diamonds that further enhance the sensuous play of light. Every variation on the theme shines with a chic sophistication that is the essence of Tiffany. Definitively American in its bold simplicity, Atlas® embodies the strength of the brand, and of the stylish women who wear it all over the world.

Only In America Clothing Line debuts in Baltimore: {Event Recap} from Candice Nicole PR

Sunday afternoon, Kevin “Trix” Bent debuted his new clothing line ‘Only In America’ to the public at a creative space in the arts district of Baltimore, MD. It was a concept born in 2012 when Kevin was incarcerated.  During this time period Kevin felt like the world had turned their back on him, with only a handful of friends that kept in contact. The struggle to keep sane became a daily task and that is when Kevin began to reflect on one of his true passions, one being fashion.  Kevin states that “Through the difficult  adversities I kept a positive mindset and created my clothing line ‘Only In America’ for people of all cultures and for individuals who feel “incarcerated” in their own mind set. Whether it be mentally or physically when you remain positive through the your turmoil you can have everything you dream of. My personal story exemplifies how “Only in America” can you “loose it all” and gain back more than you could have ever imagined.

Attendees, which included some of the top tastemakers in Baltimore, including event promoters, music industry individuals, fashion media and more enjoyed light fare, champagne and fashion forward music.  ‘Only in America’ will serve as a way of life, a fresh outlook on life that men and women can strive to live. The line will feature select designs of t-shirts, hats, and sweatshirts. Each design has its own story and is truly a piece of art and when you put on a ‘Only In America’; garment a sense of confidence will come over you. The collection features pieces inspired by American Legends such as Andy Warhol to the true American Dream; being famous.

B.DESCAI Fashion Collection: Love Bloom…an Evolution of Love

B. DESCAI is a fashion line that’s known for it’s blend of vogue and fairytale articulation.  The designer (Brandon Descai) featured his newest collection titled, “Love Bloom…an Evolution of Love” on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at EMP Collective located in Baltimore, Maryland.

According to the designer the show, “takes audiences on a love ride with garments inspired from the fast paced, surprising yest whisimical effect that love offers.”

Personally, I am “over the moon” with the designs and styling for this show.  It is the perfect combination between art, drama, and couture.  Some of the accessories used for the show are playful head pieces and “mod”  tights.

In my opinion, the B. DESCAI show is very reminiscint of vintage Betsey Johnson from the nineties.  With such a beautiful collection, there’s no question that this show was a success!

Style Life Fashion Interviews (Celebrity) Singer-Songwriter Dawn Richard

We had the opportunity to stop for a second and interview Dawn Richard (singer-songwriter.)   You guys remember her from Making The Band 3 and she was also an artist with Bad Boy Records.

Now Dawn has released a new album and her look is “very serious!”  She can (now) be seen wearing the latest couture, gracing magazine covers, or blowing up on social networking site such as Instagram.  I was eager to discuss with Dawn her singer career, style, and musical inspirations.

Target’s Beauty Concierge Progam Launches in Baltimore: Contributing Post by Lydia Rochelle

Just in case you needed another reason to shop at Target, the store known for the “Expect More. Pay Less” brand promise has launched a Beauty Concierge program in 27 existing stores in Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Baltimore.

Target-beauty-shelves

This program started in Chicago, and launched in the DMV on June 28, 2013. The Beauty Concierge is available at select times during the day, to answer all of your beauty and skincare needs with personalized and unbiased information.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit with Melody, the Beauty Concierge at the store in Towson. Her impressive background as a professional make-up artist and extensive training in skin care and hair care, guided me through my beauty journey. During my visit, we perused the vast amount of ethnic hair care products (the largest selection that I have seen at Target) and developed a regimen that would work best for my hair type. Melody provided personalized and unbiased information and we also had a great time!

Additionally, the program will launch in 96 stores in Los Angeles/Orange County, 36 stores in Minneapolis and expand to 41 stores in Chicago, with approximately 200 stores implementing the program in 2013. Check with your local Target for additional locations with the Beauty Concierge. Happy shopping!

Event Recap: Fashion Awards MD 2013

Photos from this year’s Fashion Awards MD event are posted below.  I was super excited to be a nominee, especially since this blog has only been active for one year (hooray!)  In addition, every nominee in the media category was very talented, so for me (personally) it was truly about the experience and being amongst those who share the same “love” which is fashion, art, and style.

The event production was also nice from nominees standing on the red carpet, to guest enjoying refreshments, and the opportunity to network with industry professionals.  Lastly, to give this event the fashion flair that it deserved Lana Rae (the event founder and owner of the KIS Agency) was able to have Lianca and Johnny from Kimora: House of Fab serve as the awards show host.

I look forward to attending this event again next year.  For additional details click on the link: Fashion Awards MD.com  Photos below are taken from my Instagram account.
