It was a pleasure facilitating the workshop for young ladies in the Baltimore County area. Topics that were covered included professional dress, proper grooming tips, and the importance of having self confidence.

Confusing Baltimore Weather and Confusing Fashion

With the Baltimore area going from beautiful, sunny and warm BUT— back to cold and snowy, we decided to have a little fun by mixing two ends of the fashion weather spectrum by matching a high waist bathing suit with a fox fur coat and UGG boots!!! I had so much fun doing this shoot!

Fashion Awards Maryland Emerging Nominee Awards 2014

On this evening, Baltimore’s best and brightest emerging fashion leaders are being recognized at the Fashion Awards Maryland, Emerging Nominee Awards 2014. The event was held at The Lord Baltimore Hotel near the Inner Harbor. As the event unfolds, I will continue to post updates.

My outfit: (1) Tailored black leather spiked motorcycle jacket; (2) Black pencil skirt; and (3) Shoes by Christian Louboutin

WBAL’s Ava Marie served as the event host. The awards show started with a fabulous presentation (as seen above) making guest excited and engaging with the show.

Jack Daniels Honey served as the sponsors; local designers were invited to display designs that were inspired by the color honey and/or yellow. Additional vendors were It Works Global, The Peddlers Gallery, Wearable Art and Design, New Secrets, and Embella Adorn, LLC.

Attendees were in high fashion and taking Instagram pics!

ShoeDazzle VIP Membership and Shopping Experience

I finally became a VIP member of the ShoeDazzle brand. We’ve all seen the catchy commercials and noticed their cute shoes.

After reviewing their online look book for this site, I decided to give their membership a try.

The process was very simple for joining the site. I selected a group of shoes according to my taste and based upon the selection my showroom came up.

Once you’re officially in the site, there’s an assortment of shoes to select for purchase. Boots, flats, pumps, and accessories everything on this site is hip but yet there’s a variety for anyone who’s looking to update their shoe wardrobe.

Personally, that’s my reason for becoming a member because with such a hectic schedule I don’t always have the time to shop for shoes.

When I purchased my Love Pumps and Nichole Booties the shoes arrived very quick and lived up to the quality that I expected.

Honestly, I am an active shopper (now) on their site and I suggest anyone who’s looking to have a stylish pair of shoes to try becoming a member of “the world’s premier shoe society.”

Mariah Carey’s Closet and Wardrobe: All That Glitters Is Gold

Mariah Carey has one of the most GORGEOUS closets with her shoes, handbags, and dresses organized in a beautiful formation.

From her pink pumps, marble flooring, and crystal chandelier lighting this closet is a “glamorous dream.”

Mariah gave us a glimpse into her fashionable world when she shared photos of her wardrobe. I think every woman aspires to have a beautifully, well organized closet simply because it allows us to find our items, mix and match, and care for our precious clothing.

This closet is amazing and the photos (in this post) prove: all that glitters is gold!

The Coveteur features Style Icon Rachel Zoe’s Personal Closet: New Year Inspiration

While catching up on one of my favorite fashion blogs The Coveteur I ran across style icon Rachel Zoe’s personal closet.

If you’re fashion obsessed such as myself, you generally love anything that’s associated with the “Zoe” brand.

Rachel Zoe is not only witty but she’s super talented and surrounds herself with a dedicated team. I think there’s something to be learned (from her) by anyone who’s aspiring to work in the fashion industry.

Because we are bringing in a New Year with fresh goals and aspirations, this is the perfect time to organize our closets. Come on ladies, it’s time to let go of that old sweater and suede boots from three years ago!

In honor of fashion girls who are bringing in the new year with style, I want to feature a few of our favorite celebrity closets. Hopefully the photos will inspire us all to get “get rid of old clutter!”

Tai Beauchamp Interview: Hair, Product, and Style Tips for Enjoying The Holiday Season

Style Life Fashion had the opportunity to chat with beauty and style expert, Tai Beauchamp. She shared with us a few hair, product, and style tips for women during the holiday season.

I enjoyed speaking with Tai and listening to her suggestions! Our initial conversation started as an interview but concluded with a “girlfriends” chat about things we love: such as metallic shoes, statement necklaces, and the importance of maintaining healthy hair.

Tai’s not only a stylista but she’s also a Celebrity Ambassador for Target’s ” A Bullseye View” campaign; helping women look and feel their best this holiday season. We hope that you enjoy, like, and use the tips provided through the interview shown below!

What are some tips that women can use to look their best this holiday season?

Number one, this is a good time to try something new! Go out with a bang because you want to start the new year…with a bang. A great suggestion is to switch up your hair but women can also dress up their little black dress by adding statement jewels. By wearing statement jewels, this is a great way to save money on your wardrobe.

When we talk about hair, jazz it up by going from texture to straight, or vice versa. During the winter months, it’s important to keep the hair hydrated and conditioned. Some really great products to use are Mixed Chicks, Leave In Conditioner (at Target.) It’s a lightweight conditioner for all textures. Lastly, don’t forget to try Hair Rules product for hydrating your hair.

What are some style trends that we should know when preparing for a Holiday Party?

Anything that’s metallic is one of the hottest trends whether for the holiday or upcoming spring season. Also, we can’t leave out anything with studs, whether it’s dresses, skirts, sweaters, metal chains are very hot. In addition, consider buying a metallic blouse or metallic pumps (shoes are big) and pumps are back! They are hot, hot, hot, for the holiday season because they make a look appear pulled together.

Can you provide a list of products that women of all hair types can use to maintain their tresses during the holiday rush?

Mixed Chicks, Leave In Conditioner and Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner. The holiday season is also a time to do something new and to also treat yourself. While you’re relaxing in a long bath this is the perfect time to deep conditioner your hair. Use Shea Moisture products and let it sit there. For relaxed hair and problems with “fly aways” the Twisting Butter from Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter helps to create textures. Another fabulous trick you can do at home is to give yourself a deep conditioning with Olive Oil right from your pantry. The foundation for gorgeous hair is healthy hair and hair gets drier in the winter months.

Are there any additional tips that you want to leave with us?

The key to enjoying the holiday season is to celebrate life; when we talk about celebrating you want to make sure your hair is fabulous, outfit fierce, perspective’s centered around love, friendship, and family. No one thing stands alone but most importantly have a fabulous attitude!
