Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week: Yanina Spring-Summer Collection 2020

Yanina Fashion House greets the second decade of the XXI century by creating a daring, extravagant and at the same time extremely elegant Spring-Summer collection.

Stepping aside from the usual noble and discreet black and white style, designer Yulia Yanina in SS2020 collection reveals the additional facets of the designer’s work with colors and flowers.

The collection is inspired by legendary beauties of the sixties, who created the most memorable images of the generation, inspired the designer for this collection, such as Audrey Hepburn or Catherine Deneuve, Jacqueline Kennedy or Lee Radziwill. Fringes and overalls will remind of such legends as Cher and Jane Fonda, while striking mini will evoke the style of Jean Schrimpton and Twiggy.

“Rebellious spirit under the bourgeois classics » – this is the mood of a new chapter in the history of the Yanina Fashion House.

Those inspirations create a glamorous and dream-like universe. At the end of the show, Yanina comes back to the iconic dresses of the House – black dresses with the signature embroidery of filigree work. The cut is both chaste and outrageous, classical and audacious: the past enables the designer to create modern clothes, made for women who want to make a difference.

Yanina’s new collection is an ode to freedom and boldness: it magnifies the female body with chic and timeless pieces.  This new collection marks a new chapter in the history of the House counting 25 years of dressing women around the world.

PARIS HAUTE COUTURE FASHION WEEK : ADELINE ZILIOX COUTURE SS 2020 SHOW

The fountainhead of a river or stream; the place from which a flow of water begins. A person who or thing which is the chief or prime cause of a specified condition, quality, emotion, etc.; a place where such a condition, etc. originates. A place where, or process by which, energy or some specific component enters a system; a point or center from which a fluid or current flows.

Like pure water spouting out of the Mother Earth and flowing down the rocks covered of moss in a virgin forest. The sources are several. They can be made with joy or sadness, with happiness, inspiration, life, and energy…

The source of life is the origin of the new collection by Adeline Ziliox. This inexhaustible source, inside all of us. An interpretation as much spiritual as in the reality of the moment that we’re living on our planet. This planet we must protect, as we must take care of our inner source. The mix of the elements like water and ground reflects the association of the fabrics, the work on the empty and the full like our life tempo, the embroideries like emotional landscapes…

Always in an eco-friendly approach and involved in the future of our planet, Adeline Ziliox uses only french know-hows, short courses for restraining the ecological impact, and fabrics like embroideries made by hand in her french ateliers.

African Fashions Meet the Stylish Traveler: Shangani Fashions Contemporary African Collection

During the 2019 New York fashion showcases, Shangani Fashions reimagines fall-winter styling for the modern traveler. The brand emerged on the New York runways starting in 2017 by redefining women’s travel-wear with a contemporary African esthetic that embodies African culture and history. The name is derived from “Shoshangani” which means traveler. And is also an African tribe who dwelled near the Shangani River in Zimbabwe, Africa.

The brand continues these fundamental aesthetics with added features that contribute versatility and luxury for the modern traveler. The introduction of his and her matching style sets are an adorable signature look by Shangani that can add to the romance of any travel get-away. Shangani offers men’s apparel and accessory pieces that often complement the women’s collection. Each look is classic for the metropolitan man. Shangani caters to a “One Size Fits All” approach to different body types. The women’s collection is always multi-functional with added sex-appeal. You will always see showy legs, a peek of cleavage and African fabrics that flow.

Our goal is to reach and inspire a bigger market.” Explains Creative Director, Mary Moore. “Most of our pieces are versatile and can be styled to offer numerous looks. I began adding detachable fur collars within this season’s collection. Traveling is part of my lifestyle and having a garment that transcends climate and seasons is so convenient. I lived in Russia for a few years, and I fell in love with fur during my stay. I have always wanted to work with fur. This season I have applied detachable fur as a luxury feature to the garments.”

Shangani’s showcase includes striking jewelry and leather handbags with bold African prints and contemporary shapes that match the signature garment. The handbags range from cozy clutch purses to colorful handbags for the business traveler. The looks are suitable as traditional ethnic-wear or casual business attire. A mix of modern contemporary shapes and ethnic fabrics for the active traveler is the passion behind Shangani Fashions.

YOLANCRIS COUTURE FW19: Paris Fashion Week

The Couture FW19 collection presents a hidden, dark, darkly romantic spring with a Gothic touch. Inspired by the stories of Edgar Allan Poe and the illustrations by Harry Clarke and Aubrey Beardsley, the colorful characteristic of the brand gives way to a black and white that are fused and contrasted in forms that are reminiscent of the decorative arts of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth.

Along with Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts, the other most important influence of the creative director Yolanda Pérez are the decades of the 60s and 70s of the 20th century. The black and white binomial of the collection has its point in common with the op art of the 60s, being the graphics of the French designer Louis Féraud a reference point in conceiving and creating the ornamentations of the pieces of the collection with abundant embroideries and hand-sewn rhinestones. Among the collaborators, Yolancris has worked with Roselinde’s jewelry.

The light of the Canary Islands and its natural landscapes are the greatest inspiration of Ros Jiménez, owner and designer of the brand. The House also collaborated with British footwear brand Sophia Webster. Hair and makeup were coordinated by Marcello Costa and his team, PR and management of the show were done by Totem Fashion and the consulting by Mabel Gago.
