Infusium’s Golden Globes Looks – Julia Louis-Dreyfus & Connie Britton

Infusium is excited to celebrate this year’s Golden Globes with Julia Louis-Dreyfus AND Connie Britton, donning their next generation of Infusium products that transform hair heath with every use.

Renowned celebrity stylist, Matthew Monson (@matthewmonzon), worked his magic for Best Actress in a Comedy nominee, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ effortlessly chic look; while Connie Britton’s gorgeous natural waves were created by celebrity stylist, Enzo Angileri (@enzoangileri). Both stylists used Infusium to ensure their hair stayed healthy during and even after their struts on the red-carpet.

“GET THE LOOK” FROM MATTHEW MONZON:

  • For Julia Louis Dreyfus’ look tonight I wanted her hair to look soft, shiny and stunning.
  • First, I washed and conditioned her hair with the Infusium Repair + Renew Shampoo and Conditioner.
  • Next, to protect her hair from any damage, I sprayed Infusium Repair + Renew Leave-In Treatment from mid shaft through the ends combing through with a wide toothcomb.
  • Then I took a quarter size amount of Infusium Repair + Renew Leave-In Crème emulsified in my hands, and worked through the last 3 inches of the hair to help eliminate frizz and flyaways.
  • I started drying her hair using just my hands, and lifting her strands for texture and root volume. After it was half way dry, I incorporated a round brush to finish and create even more volume.
  • To keep with Julia’s signature style, I created a strong center part with a tailcomb. Then separated her hair into large sections, and starting curling using a large barrel iron for a more tousled feeling.
  • To finish the look, I used the Infusium Repair + Renew Smoothing Serum to smooth over the ends and give a bit more definition to the hair.

“GET THE LOOK” FROM ENZO ANGILERI:

  • I wanted Connie’s style to look elegant, shiny and smooth.
  • I started by washing and conditioning her hair with the Infusium Repair + Renew Shampoo and Conditioner.
  • While her hair was still wet, I parted the hair down the middle and then sprayed Infusium Repair + Renew Leave-In Treatment to the ends of her hair.
  • Then I sectioned her hair into about 20 sections and starting drying with a round brush. After, I pinned each section up like a roller and let it set for about 5 minutes for volume and natural wave. I took out the pins and brushed her hair so the waves would loosen.
  • Starting from the back of the head, I used a 1.5 inch curling iron and began curling the hair to accentuate the soft waves.
  • When finished, I lightly brushed it out again for that natural look. I applied the Repair + Renew Smoothing Serum at the top of her head, near her part to avoid fly aways!

America’s Next Top Model Season 23 – Episode 4 Recap

“Brand yourself and be self-made” was the most profound statement during last night’s episode of America’s Next Top Model.

Cast members were asked to create a Snapchat message based upon tips from DJ Khaled.  This was a fun challenge allowing contestants to wear lingerie (in the street) and engage with their social media audience.

Conflict emerged between Binta and Courtney while creating their message. Courtney won the challenge; resulting in a surge of resentment from Binta.

The last photo challenge (during this episode) required contestants to attend a party hosted by Paper Magazine and tell a photo story.

Krislian shocked the judges with her editorial photos, stepping out of her comfort zone. There was also a visit from Jasmine Sanders, Instagram Socialite from @golden_barbie

America’s Next Top Model Season 23 – Episode 3 Recap

Last night on America’s Next Top Model the contestants received their signature makeovers.  Cast members were encouraged to be comfortable with their bodies; participating in a nude photo shoot with renown photographer Ellen Von Unwerth.

Everyone did not have the same level of enthusiasm while others embraced their new hair change. According to the panelist, Courtney, Tash, and Paige had the best model makeovers.

Cherish was uncomfortable with the challenge; refusing to dye her hair.  She was eliminated due to the awkwardness of her challenge photos.

Next week contestants will learn “key steps” to social media branding from DJ Khaled and Jasmine Sanders.

First Lady Michelle Obama Says Farewell To The White House – Must See Interview

First Lady Michelle Obama looked stunning during her interview with Oprah Winfrey.  FLOTUS was seen on the CBS network wearing a Brandon Maxwell Shift Dress.  Personally, I adored the high fashion and use of bold accessories (purple pumps) during this television special but the hairstyles were gorgeous as well.

The new special FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA SAYS FAREWELL TO THE WHITE HOUSE — AN OPRAH WINFREY SPECIAL will be broadcast Monday, Dec. 19 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. OWN will air the second showing of the special on Wednesday, Dec. 21 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT). In the special, which taped on Dec. 14, Oprah Winfrey speaks to First Lady Michelle Obama for her final one-on-one interview inside the White House. During this exclusive interview in the First Family’s private residence, Mrs. Obama talks about life at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, her eight years as First Lady of the United States, the legacy she’ll leave behind and her plans for the future. Michelle’s natural (chemical-free) hair was cut in a Blunt Bob and Oprah wore the perfect Ponytail.  Aside from the fashion and beauty displayed by both women, the CBS special addressed topics that can be related to women across the world.

The First Lady Michelle Obama discussed her experiences entering in The White House, national program initiatives such as Let’s Move, and raising her daughters in the public eye.

There was also a brief visit from President Barack Obama.  In closing, Michelle couldn’t forget to address that life changing quote “When They Go Low, We Go High” as we prepare for the upcoming inauguration.

This look was a red carpet hit due to the effortless cut and style from the Sherri Hill Fall 2016 Collection.

Cassie VMAS 2016 Red Carpet Look

Cassie graced the red carpet wearing a hot, new look for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. The singer was seen in a Balmain Jacket and Gucci Metallic Leggings. Her accessories for the evening included a Gold Body Chain and Handbag.

The eye-opener was Cassie’s neon hair color; very fitting for the awards show red carpet!

Jill Scott Concert 2016 – Songstress and Poet

One of my favorite quotes is “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams” by Eleanor Roosevelt.  This quote is significant in terms of goal setting and personal achievement.

Attending a Jill Scott concert was a goal on my personal to-do list.  Jill Scott is a soulful singer and her voice has a variety of range.  As a song-writer, her lyrics go beyond the surface; addressing topics that are realistic to listeners.

I was gifted a set of tickets from my brother (and sister-in-law) to take part in her performance at the Amphitheater located in Tuscaloosa.

Jill Scott’s concert pushed beyond the limits of watching a songstress to viewing a “seasoned” artist/poet.

She gave us relationship advice and shared reflections from her own life. The concert was amazing and I encourage anyone who’s a fan of her music to purchase tickets from ticketmaster.com

Taraji P. Henson BET Awards Beauty Report – Ashunta Sheriff for Black Opal

Already a BET 2015 Best Actress winner, superstar and TV’s reigning diva Taraji P. Henson hits the red carpet as a nominee once again for her role as Cookie Lyon in FOX’s hit music drama “Empire.” The actress stunned with a glowing beauty look created by celebrity makeup artist, Ashunta Sheriff.

TARAJI P. HENSON:
“I wanted to go for an understated, soft and clean look on Taraji for the BET Awards. It was a hot day and the look was effortless and easy to create. Black Opal was perfect for achieving great skin with a gorgeous glow as the rest of her makeup look was accented with luxe lips and cat winged liner.”

GET THE LOOK:

FACE:
I started with clean and moisturized skin before applying Black Opal True Color Perfecting Primer. I used a wedge sponge starting from the inner parts of the face, moving outward.
Then, I applied Black Opal True Color Stick Foundation in Rich Caramel with a foundation brush only on areas that needed coverage to even out her complexion.
Black Opal Flawless Perfecting Concealer in Tan was applied onto the under-eye area and brow bone to give a natural, clean lift to brows. I then set her face with Black Opal Invisible Oil-Blocking Powder.
To contour and sculpt the face, I used Black Opal Color Splurge Eye Satin Matte duo in Bordeaux Bliss. Using a fluffy crease brush, the darker color softly contoured as the lighter shade created a soft lift on the tops of her cheekbones.

EYES:
I used the same Color Splurge Eye Satin Matte duo in Bordeaux Bliss, using the lighter shade on the lids and darker shade on the outer corner of the eyes to create a blended out, smoldering look.
With a thin liner brush, I created a cat winged eyeliner look with Black Opal Luxe Crème Liner in Onyx.
To finish the look, brows were shaped and groomed with Black Opal Precision Eye Definer in Coffee Bean.
