THREE ALABAMA SPAS NAMED TOP 30 IN NORTH AMERICA FOR 2020

While North American travelers haven’t been able to travel as much as they would like in 2020, we hope that the following list of best spas will inspire your trips to come — whenever they may be. Three of the top 30 spas for 2020 in North America were in Alabama on the RTJ Spa Trail and are owned by the Retirement Systems of Alabama.

“The North American spa and wellness industry was devastated by the events of the past year,” says Spas of America president Craig Oliver. “Many spas have been forced to close, reduce staff, and operate at a reduced capacity. On the bright side, we are seeing strong interest from consumers who are searching for relaxation, mental health, wellness, and escape. We have no doubt North American spas will rise to meet this challenge in the year ahead.”

The RTJ Spa Trail has six spas across Alabama. “We are delighted with these honors and believe all of our spas offer world-class experiences at a time when people need them,” said Taylor Fields, Director of Spa for PCH Hotels & Resorts. “Our spas at Ross Bridge, Opelika, and Florence make this prestigious international list.” Other spas on the RTJ Spa Trail are at the Grand Hotel, the Battle House, and Renaissance Montgomery.

Millennial Business Mogul Breaks New Ground in the Beauty and Spa Industry with The Queen Spa Expo and The Black Spa Magazine

Candace Holyfield is affectionately known as “The Six Figure Spa Chick”, Holyfield is the founder and the creative mind behind the Queen Spa Expo (specifically created for minority spa professionals) and The Black Spa Magazine. She is best known for her Award-Winning spa parties and her business instructional classes designed to empower millennial business owners. She has written over 30 e-books (for spa professionals) and has been invited to speak on mainstages internationally.

 

A trailblazer in her own right, Holyfield has assisted over 500 spa owners not only to launch their salon but create a six-figure income while doing so.  Her work in the industry has not gone unnoticed.  She has graced the stages and pages of some of the most coveted beauty magazines and expos.

 

She has been the voice for African American spa owners b/c so many have been ignored or muted.  This prompted the development of The Queen Spa Expo and The Black Spa Magazine.  The Annual Queen Spa Expo is slated to take place in Atlanta, Ga September 18-19th.
