Vegan Chicken Salt A Best Seller Amazon: All-Purpose Seasoning

Australian-inspired Vegan Chicken Salt is quickly becoming a U.S. favorite! Customers are loving the versatile seasoning collection especially with Turmeric being the key ingredient. JADA Spices’ Vegan Chicken Salt is a 100% paleo friendly, an authentic vegan parve all-purpose seasoning made with unrefined sea salt, turmeric, onion powder and garlic powder that is safe to use before, during, and after cooking.

Turmeric and its health benefits have received plenty of attention and consumers are looking for ways to add it to their diets. Native to India, it has been used for thousands of years in foods and for medicinal purposes. Below is a list of health benefits associated with Turmeric:

  • Natural anti-inflammatory: helps with arthritis, muscle ache, and heart disease
  • Powerful antioxidant: helps cleanse the body and fights signs of aging
  • Help prevent Cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease

Though many delicious meals include Turmeric, this beneficial ingredient is not as popular in US households. With somewhat of a bitter taste, this powdery spice works best when mixed with other complementary herbs.

With essential add-on ingredients such as garlic, sea salt, and black pepper, the Vegan Chicken Salt collection has made it easy to include more Turmeric in everyday meals and snacks. With five flavors to choose from (Original, Reduced Sodium, Lime, Red Pepper and BBQ), customers can pick their favorites and begin enjoying the health benefits of Turmeric when spicing their eggs, tofu, vegetables, meats, legumes and more!

JADA Spices is also the first to create an exclusive Turmeric Salt flavor. Though all of their flavors contain Turmeric, Turmeric Salt contains a higher amount. Just in case you wish to include more Turmeric in your recipes without adding a distinctive taste (such as Lime, Red Pepper, or BBQ), Turmeric Salt is a great solution.

JADA Spices is a health-conscious seasoning company hoping to provide flavorful and healthier alternatives to traditional all-purpose seasonings. All their seasonings are currently Vegan and Non-GMO certified; thus, leading the movement of certified products for health-conscious consumers.

“We understand it can be time-consuming preparing delicious meals but many of us know eating unhealthy is a compromise for the convenience it offers. We all desire to be healthy, so we created flavors with the essential ingredients [you’re already using] in order to compete with busy schedules. With the right combination of vital herbs and spices, flavorful and healthy meals are a few bottles shake away,” stated JADA Spices.

Vegan Chicken Salt is meant to encourage a healthier cooking lifestyle by motivating consumers to enjoy more home-cooked meals using healthy ingredients and spices. “We are extremely proud to have incorporated Turmeric in all our seasonings.

We know people want to take advantage of all the health benefits certain natural ingredients have, but we also understand they want a convenient way to incorporate it into their meals,” commented JADA Spices. With additional health benefits such as Gluten, MSG, and Soy-free, and the inclusion of turmeric as a key ingredient, customers can enjoy plenty of health benefits with every meal.

Celebrity Chef Richard Ingraham Interview and Eating Well To Win Cookbook

Style + Life + Fashion had the opportunity to interview Gabrielle Union and NBA veteran Dwyane Wade’s private chef, Richard Ingraham.

He released a new cookbook titled, Eating Well to Win – which is focused on developing delicious, flavorful recipes — many of which include either a Southern, Creole, Italian or Asian flair.

What was your inspiration for creating this cookbook?

I just wanted to be able to touch others with my cooking. Being a personal chef doesn’t allow me to cook for the masses like I would be able to if I worked in a restaurant. So, writing Eat Well To Win seemed like the perfect solution.

Can you provide a delicious, easy appetizer recipe or any meal planning suggestions?

See recipe below.

What is your favorite recipe in the cookbook as it relates to eating healthy?

I really like the Roasted Sea Bass and Mushroom Broth with Quinoa, Sweet Potatoes and Kale. This dish starts with roasted sea bass that has up to 20 grams of protein in a 3oz serving. It’s also a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, which help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by lowering blood pressure and reducing levels of cholesterol. The sea bass sits atop a mixture of quinoa (great source of protein, fiber, and essential amino acids), kale (high in vitamin k, iron, and fiber) and sweet potato (great source of potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin B6).

Are there any additional tips or ideas that you would like to leave with us?

Eating healthier doesn’t mean that your food should be flavorless and lackluster. Eating Well To Win shows you that food can be exciting, flavorful, and still be good for you. Even with eating healthier, one must remember that paying attention to portion sizes is another very important factor in leading a healthier lifestyle.

The National Retail Federation expects a solid 3.7 percent increase in 2015 holiday buying amounting to $630.5 billion – an astonishing total for just two months of sales.  However, they are tempering their glee noting that “…Americans remain somewhat torn between their desire and their ability to spend; the fact remains consumers still have the weight of the economy on their minds” and  “expect families to spend prudently and deliberately.”  The NRF also expects online holiday sales to increase between 6 and 8 percent this year, adding up to $105 billion.

A new school year can turn even the most organized kitchen into a chaotic mess. Whether you’re off to college, or sending your little one to their first day of school, keeping the kitchen in order can be hectic!

Check out tips from KptnCook App, helping us get our kitchen’s back-to-school ready.  Follow these tried and tested back-to-school suggestions for a stress-free start to the semester!

Fresh start

There’s nothing like an untidy pantry to send your cooking motivation into a tailspin. Set some time aside to clear everything out of your cupboards and give the shelves a good wipe down. Throw out anything that is past the use by date, and any products you know won’t be eaten, looking at your pawpaw pretending to be mango. Be unmerciful and make some room!

The essentials

Having all the basics at your fingertips makes meal prep easy as pie – which incidentally, can be a little tricky to make. Ensure you have these essential items in your pantry:

  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • Dried herbs and spices including; oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme, chili, turmeric and coriander, paprika, allspice, nutmeg, cumin and cinnamon. Don’t forget fresh garlic too
  • Flour, and sugar
  • Grains such as; pasta, rice, quinoa and buckwheat
  • Canned goods including; chickpeas, lentils, white beans, corn, tomatoes, and tuna

Within arm’s reach

Gather all the kitchen utensils and gadgets, and group them into most used and least used. Place your most used items nearest to your cooking area and the least used things further away. This way, for example, your baking tins aren’t getting in the way of the toaster, which you use every morning.

Stock up on kitchen supplies

Make those leftovers more accessible with a selection of different sized clear containers. If you have these at your disposal, you can scoop up any leftovers and have them for lunch the next day. They are also a handy for neatly storing herbs and spices. Bonus tip: if you freeze your leftovers make sure you label what it is and when you put it in the freezer.

Cooking inspiration

Getting dinner cooked and on the table is a key source of stress for Americans, with 33 percent saying that cooking healthy meals is a constant worry*. To reduce stress levels, these blogs are always a good source of inspiration:

Homemade Salad Dressing: Lifestyle Tip and Summer Option

Two weeks ago I was preparing lunch and realized there was no salad dressing.  I instantly became upset because my salad was delicious and wanted the full experience.  My mind began to wonder and that’s when I created my own dressing!  Honestly, homemade salad dressing is a healthier option because there’s no added sodium or fat.  You can regulate the ingredients according to your individual diet.

Mandarin Salad - Favorite Salad Option
Mandarin Salad – Favorite Salad Option

My recipe started with the base ingredients such as olive oil, salt, pepper, Coleman’s mustard, parsley, and vinegar; there’s so much more to make your dressing appealing.  Homemade salad dressing can be prepared in less than 15 minutes and in larger quanities.  It’s also delicious with (other) afternoon snack options such as tuna, veggies, cheese, and crackers.

It’s almost summer which means we want quick healthy meals.  Consider making homemade salad dressing to compliment snacks, lunch, or dinner!

Quick Girl’s Classic Vinaigrette Dressing

1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon Coleman’s Mustard

1/8 teaspoon pepper

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

Combine ingredient’s in a bowl and whisk.  Don’t forget your salad dressing maker and other tools from Target!

Organic Food Options at BJs Wholesale: Lifestyle Tip

Did you know that BJs carries more than 150 organic options in-club and their assortment is growing? Well-known brands from Back to Nature, Betterbody, Stonyfield, and Horizon can be found at BJs. In fact, BJs is expanding its own brand, Wellsley Farms, in this category, too. Twenty-five percent of Wellsley Farms items that are unveiled this year will be organic. Currently, BJs also carries organic dairy, bakery, produce, prepared foods and more.

PERDUE® HARVESTLAND® is the first organic whole bird, boneless breasts, and boneless thighs now offered. In true blogger fashion I decided to venture into BJs and take a look at the new product line.  I’m always pleased to visit the store because they have great prices and the products are in line with my family’s needs.  It’s also very clean and well organized; all of the components that any busy mom values when shopping wholesale.

I purchased a few items of my own and created a recipe with Perdue Harvestland Whole Chicken.  The meal was delicious and the quality of the chicken was undeniable because there were fewer hormones.  If you’re looking to jumpstart a healthier meal option for your family and consume meats with no animal by-products, visit BJs and shop their (new) organic food options.

Photo Example from

Can in The Rear Chicken Ingredients:

  • 1 4-pound whole chicken
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 opened, half-full can of pepsi, room temperature
  • 1 Tbsp sea salt
  • 2 Tbsp Mrs Dash
  • 1 Tbsp black pepper

1 Prepare your oven at 350 degrees for indirect heat

2 Remove neck and giblets from cavity of chicken.  Rub olive oil all over the chicken. Mix the salt, pepper, and Mrs Dash in a little bowl, then sprinkle or spread over the chicken.

3 Make sure the can is open and lower the chicken on the open can, so that the chicken is sitting upright and the can in its cavity.

4 Place the chicken in the oven; and don’t check on it for at least an hour. After an hour, check on the chicken and keep checking the chicken every 15 minutes until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reads 160°F – 165°F. The cooking time will vary depending on the size of your chicken.  If you don’t have a meat thermometer, poke the chicken with a knife to see if there’s no red juices or if the meat is done.

5 Carefully transfer the chicken to a tray or pan and use tongs to hold the top of the chicken. Lift the chicken and ease the can from inside of the chicken.  Let it cool for 15 minutes. Carefully lift the chicken off of the can.
