Conair Hairbrushes Product Review – Affordable Styling Tool

Owning the right set of hair brushes can be the same as purchasing a gorgeous lipstick.  It’s essential to your beauty routine and a must-have product.

I decided to give my hair some attention and invest in the proper set of brushes. The summer requires a lot of hair manipulation and can lead to loss at the root.

To help out in this area, Conair shipped a set of brushes.  I’m huge fan of the hot air brush that was featured on this site a year ago and was excited to receive the package.  In terms of hair maintenance, the brush is by no means a substitute for professional blowouts but I have received compliments after using this product.

My technique is to apply serum, section the hair, start on a low-heat; working until the hair is straight.

Product Review:

Let’s talk about the new set of brushes!  I received the Quick Blow-Dry Metal Vent Brush, Carbon Smooth Fast Drying Anti Static Brush, and Ultra Detangler Large Nylon Round Brush.  Again, each brush has an individual use, which is very important to remember.

The Quick Blow-Dry Metal Vent Brush allows airflow from your dryer to the hair; Smooth Fast Drying Anti Static Brush prevents static after blow-drying, and Ultra Detangler Nylon Round brush easily glides through wet hair.  You’re probably asking, “Which brush did I use?”  And the answer is all of them!

The ultimate purpose of using a hairbrush is not just for styling but it’s critical to the health of your hair. I suggest researching the right hair tools and visit your local Ulta to purchase a set of Conair Brushes.  The company has a variety of brushes for all hair types.

After using the set of brushes, I have received several compliments on my hair and it’s not because I’m a great stylist (smile) but due to using the right tools!

COVERGIRL OUTLAST ALL-DAY Soft Touch Concealer: Review

COVERGIRL has a new collection titled the OUTLAST All-Day product line.  This advanced formula was perfect because I have been searching for makeup that will give a flawless appearance.

Aside from having an unblemished face, I needed something to remove the shine and last for hours without fading away.

COVERGIRL sent the Soft Touch Concealer for a product review.  I was skeptical because concealer is a serious topic for beauty bloggers.  To my surprise, this product is amazing!  After staying up all night I needed makeup to camouflage my under-eye circles.

This concealer has a matte finish and doesn’t require a lot of application.

Hairdo Simply Straight Ponytail – Easy Hair Solution

Looking great during the holiday season can be exhausting!  There’s so many events to attend from office parties to charity functions.

The Hairdo Simply Straight Ponytail is the solution to our hair problems.  It’s an easy installation for an inexpensive price.  Here’s the breakdown:

  1. Put your hair in a pony or bun.
  2. Slip in comb and wrap around your pony or bun.

Hair How To: The Horsetail

Hairstylist: Giannandrea, International Creative Director for Macadamia Professional

1.)    Start with wet hair and apply Macadamia Professional Blow Dry Lotion ($19.95; Ulta.com) throughout the lengths to smooth and protect hair from heat styling. Blow-dry large sections straight with a large round brush.

2.)    Brush all the hair upward to the top center of the crown. All the sides and back of the hair must direct very tightly to the top center.

3.)    Pull hair into a ponytail, smoothing all sides as needed and secure with a strong hair elastic.

4.)    Spray Macadamia Professional Tousled Texture Finishing Spray ($19.95, Ulta.com) through length of the ponytail to create body and definition.

5.)    Take a medium sized section from the back bottom of the ponytail. Wrap the section around the base of the elastic and spray Macadamia Professional Flex Hold Shaping Hairspray ($19.95; Ulta.com) to help the hair stay in place. Create a tall, 3-inch thick band that covers the elastic. Use straight pins all around while wrapping and smoothing it in place.

6.)    Lightly spray the top of the head with Macadamia Professional Flex Hold Shaping Hairspray ($19.95; Ulta.com) and gently run hands over the hair to smooth flyaways.

7.)    Brush the ponytail and spray Macadamia Professional Weightless Moisture Dry Oil Micro Mist ($31.95; Ulta.com) to achieve the ultimate finish and shine for a glamorous look.

Cassie VMAS 2016 Red Carpet Look

Cassie graced the red carpet wearing a hot, new look for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. The singer was seen in a Balmain Jacket and Gucci Metallic Leggings. Her accessories for the evening included a Gold Body Chain and Handbag.

The eye-opener was Cassie’s neon hair color; very fitting for the awards show red carpet!

Talk of Alabama Lifestyle Segment – Summer Beauty on a Budget

I was thrilled to visit Talk of Alabama and share beauty tips on a budget.  With so many products in stores one has to ask, “are they budget-friendly?”

There’s also a misconception that one must spend hundreds of dollars to look amazing.  This is not a true statement!

Beauty can be accomplished with a $10 purchase; we must use self-awareness and research our individual needs. For example, I suffer from eczema and constantly seeking products that will retain hydration and reduce skin irritation.
